Is the steering wheel multi function and what colour is the headliner?

I dont have the car parked at my house but from memory no, I dont think the steering wheel is multi function. Headliner is black but will need replacing as it's sagged. Badly..lol

  2. SOLD.

Time constraints and other projects mean I haven't had a lot of time for this so it needs to go.

As with a car of this age it has good and bad points.

    225k on the clock.

    Engine starts and runs sweet.

I replaced the engine mounts and the center hanging bearing but should have read a bit more before doing that. I didn't pre-load the hanging bearing so it knocks a bit under power changing from 1st to 2nd.

Usual interior issues. Roof lining is sagging and material is coming off door cards but seats and carpets are good.

    Doesn't have fog lights

Chipping to paint on the rf guard and a few small dings around the car(I'll add photos when I can)

New reg and wof on it.

    $1800 ono

If I list it on Trademe it will be for a bit more than that.

This is NOT a Guibo it is a Product made by a company called Guibi , other companies also make them it is a flexible coupling

I think we're past that part of the discussion and onto other things. Like why the transmission is leaning on the transmission tunnel? :-)

  4. So I finally got around to having a look under this thing.

Jap import so no Guibo there.

What I did find was that the transmission was sitting off center on the drivers side and is hitting the tunnel wall on acceleration.

So my guess is a broken mount somewhere. I didn't have a lot of time to investigate as it started to rain and I was working outside.

The trans mount looked to be intact so maybe a broken engine mount? Will have to wait till I can really get under it for a decent look.

    I predict remorse :D

    hope new owner posts here.....

It was immediate..lol Remorse that is.

But for me it was time to move it on and concentrate on other things. I did however wait a long time for the right buyer to come along even turning a couple of people away because I didn't think they'd cherish the car like it deserved.. :-)

Despite the driveway not looking the same I'm happy with where it's at now.

  6. SOLD to a member here so no doubt you'll still all see it around. A sad day for me. It's the first time in close to 10 years that I dont own a E38. Congrats to the new owner. Hoping you get as much fun and enjoyment out of it as I did.

Different things... the "guibo" is #1 in that diagram, the uni is the (unnumbered) coupling in the prop shaft.

Realoem list #1 as a universal joint. Clicking the pick leads to this. Are we both talking about the same thing? different names for the same thing?
