  2. Hey Rhys, before my car was turbo it was factory M50 with ECU, was never dyno tuned sorry man. I pretty much dropped the motor in with the ECU and away she went. Luke

  5. Hahaha sounds a bit dodgy brad... Tru hmm still not sitting as low as i prefer maybe coz they are only 16s? The back sits ok bust still needs to be lower haha You should feel the shifter now Linden, amazing haha! Wired the reverse lights in and redone all the inhibitor switch too. The mirrors also work now (a wire on the starter motor was not plugged on)

  9. Oh I see, damn so I just have to trial and error to get them the right way round. Have had them in both ways round, one way the car just cranks over but doesnt even ignite and the other way it coughs and spits and wont run. One point here though I lost one of the bolts that holds the sensor in so only one of them was bolted in up tight so that could be the issue. And yes its a Pfl flywheel Cam haha, havnt changed the flywheel over only the gearbox is facelift. I have the facelift 260 shift cradle, pre-facelift 260 selector shaft and the Z3 short shifter gear lever. Which moving onto Stephen's comment about the gearbox's being different lengths, both gearboxs are 260's with identical gearbox numbers on them... 260.0.1044.90
  10. Hey guys, so I had my gearbox drilled out for the crank sensors to be fitted as it was a pfl motor and gearbox now putting a facelift gearbox upto the motor. Do the two crank sensors have to go in a certain order or does it not matter which way round they go? Also the selector rod that goes from the bottom of the gear lever to the selector shaft in the back of the gearbox is too long which in turn makes the gear lever lean all the way forward even when its in like the 2nd, 4th gear position. Are the facelift and prefacelift selector rods diff length? I might just get the one I have shortened by 10mm as thats all is needed. Cheers, Luke
  11. Hey Ray! A local gearbox guru has got it sorted for me thanks heaps though. Hes going to drill the holes and tap the threads, reckons he can get it accurate to within a thousandth of an inch so that will save me heaps of coin. How many gearboxs have you got there Ray? My mate has just bought an E30 and is looking at a conversion at some point. Cheers guys for the help

Oh Alex I dont mean taking the bellhousing of sorry, I mean taking the rear housing off and swapping it over, both gearbox's are still fine its just the new Z3 shifter and linkage I have suits the newer facelift style gearbox because of the mounting on the rear housing. Also theres a leak on the gearbox that came out of the car and its coming from the rear housing, presume its a seal so I will replace that seal and sell that gearbox. So really what I want to know is it simple to swap the rear housings over? From that diagram Alex it looks pretty straight forward but am I going to pull the housings off and find parts fall inside the gearbox and lose parts etc.. How hard is the motronic conversion??   13. Hey guys, have bought a replacement Getrag 260 gearbox for my E30 but its a facelift box going onto the pre facelift motor. Is it possible to get someone to drill out the Crank sensor holes or am I best to swap it for a pre-facelift box? Id rather not swap as that would involve a whole lot of freight etc.. How about changing the housings over, has anyone got any diagrams of one of these transmissions broken down. Cheers, Luke

  24. What size tyres bro? Also do you have an E34 throttle cable? and also where the rear seatbelts mount to the parcel tray there is one bolt with a thick steel brace between the bolt and the belt i need one for the rear drivers side seatbelt. Cheers, Luke
