  1. So these are the rims I've bought 16x9 with et 15.

Just need to sort some sort of suspension out. It currently has king super lows. Would they work well with koni adjustable shocks. I need some help as to a good set up with using what I have. Cheers

  2. Been a while since an update. Haven't been able to get much done with family visiting etc but I've got the door jams painted, under bonnet and inside boot. Will rehang doors this week. Some pics of before and after Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

  3. Changed the flex plates.

One of the threads on the torque converter was cross threaded, managed to re thread it using an exhaust manifold stud ha.

    Torque converter is bolted on!

Now the driveshaft doesn't appear long enough? wtf

It doesn't have a flex disc, it has 4 studs that insert into holes in the output flange from trans.

The studs are meeting the flange but are not protruding through to do nuts up???

Is the trans flange supposed to slide out or something? the driveshaft length is fixed right?

    What's going on?

It's a two piece drive shaft right? Can you not slide the drive shaft down the spline a tad to get that extra length. There should be around 80mm play in the spline where the two pieces of the drive shaft join.

  4. No cert is needed for manual conversion. When they say no modification to the gearbox gross member, they mean that the physical crossmember hasn't been cut and welded etc. Simply mounting the crossmember onto the car is not considered modification of the crossmember.

  5. Bought the new motor and got it all cleaned up. New waterpump and all the usual sort of things I have done. Taken the viscus fan off and fitted an electric fan in front of the radiator to give me more room in the engine bay. Pics of cosmetic things done to the motor. Before and after

  6. Quick update. Got the engine bay all painted the new colour. It's a Lexus colour from their 2014 IS range called liquid platinum. It's a grey silver. Motor and gearbox in next and all the engine bay complete. Then doors off to paint inside door jams etc before putting them on and painting the outside Posted ImagePosted Image

  7. So at the start of this year I decided to sell my 4th E30 and go for something different. So I bought a B6 Audi A4. Nice car to drive smooth etc but with the old man having his E30 I wanted another one. So I bought myself one that had a stuffed motor and I've decided to put a 1800 with a motor with a manual box in it. I know you guys will scoff at the idea of a 4 cylinder In an E30 but I have never had one and want to give it a go. Car is getting a full paint in a Lexus colour called Liquid Platinum. With be putting adjustable suspension in and 16 inch rims nice wide ones. I really don't like tech II kits so not going down that track. I will look for some side skirts, get an IS lip from hans. I need some help when it comes to the back. Does anyone know if you can get a rear apron to go over the existing valance to make it look nicer? Anyway please give me advice and ideas. Here's the pics so far. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

  8. yup thats what i did. also had to modify the second one as the curve wasnt quite right, the first one i got was perfect

its just the reality of playing with fiberglass

Yup I also had the same thing happen with my second one. I had it on and was going to fix it but the tall gutters in the angled parking got to it first. You only make that mistake once haha

  9. E34 Touring are very cool. biggest things to have a look at are the wiring for the boot lid around the hinge, that rubs and perishes. Also the sunroof models are generally more hassle than they are worth, i suggest if you do end up getting one, just never open the sunroof or maybe use the tilt only. they can sieze open leaving your car unsecure/wet etc.

Brendans would be a good choice, when i had it, no evidence of loom rubbing that i can remember, and its a slick top type.

They are super cool. Always wanted one. And yeah if I can have something to tinker away on I'll be happy. The old man is an auto sparky so he can sort the wire issue. But cheers for the heads up Andy

    have put his number above

    Thanks heaps mate!
