Just thought i would put this up here before it goes on trademe and see what interest is out there.

This car is a 1988 535i automatic.

It has done about just under 200k miles, which is about 300km.

Although it has high k's it is still in very good mechanical condition.

I bought it with the intention of tidying it up but have ended up with too many projects and no time to do it.

I bought it from a friend of mine who is a bmw specialist mechanic. He has owned it for several years.

When he had the car he serviced it as required, replaced all of the rear suspension about 8 months ago and fitted the wheels etc.

Since i have bought it i have done, oil change, 4 new tires, water pump, radiator, thermostat etc.

Good parts about the car:

3.5l has lots of power and drives really well.

M-tech 2 steering wheel.

BBS wheels,

Lowered,

Clear indicator lights,

Towbar,

sunroof,

new rear suspension.

4 new tires,

plus more that doesn't spring to mind.

Bad points of the car:

slight clear coat fade on roof and rear bumper,

worn interior,

missing piece above rear view mirror cheap enough from someone like Hellbm

small dent in boot lid.

wobble at about 100k (front reaction arm bush, common e34 issue, approx $80 per side.)

The warrant has just expired and registration has a few months left. Will be taking it for a wof early in the week.

Wanting $3k with new warrant.

E36 ratios arnt the same as e30s.

E36 manual box 1 to 1 5th gear. E30 box 0.8 to 1 5th gear.

3.6 is good on e30 not on e36

Sounds like the gearbox has selected two gears at once. Does the gearstick move freely even though you cant get any gears, or is it stuck in one position?

Check the shifter linkages are all still attached correctly.

The car also has

20mm front swaybar $100

51mm front struts with almost new, and perfect operating Munroe shocks. $300 for struts with shocks.

Good headlights, good tail lights. $40 per front side, $30 per rear side.

Front bumper, no rust, slight bump in front but not very noticeble, good for racecar $40

Rear bumper, straight but slight bit of surface rust. $20

Moulds are being made right now.

Slideways, $40 for all of it.

Jasjot.s, dash is available, two very small cracks that you cant see when sat in it. $100 for the complete dash.

Also a mint glovebox with perfect operating lock and handle. $60

manual conversion is sold pending payment, will let you know if anything changes,

Headlight covers $50 a pair.

Tow-bar $50

Bottle caps with reasonable tires $20 each.

4 doors $50 each, complete with glass, door card etc.

these are faded, but you can just paint them easily enough.

body is starting to get a bit of rust in it, not in the panels, but in the shell. Also dont really have the time to spend on it.

Just picked up this e30 and about to start stripping it out, all parts are for sale,

Engine, m20b25, 360k runs very well and sounds really smooth, no smoke, oil burning etc. $600 including loom, computer, intake etc.

Getrag 260 manual conversion, Gearbox feels very good, smooth changes, no noise etc. $700 complete conversion

Rust free sunroof panel, in colour of the car pictured below, $160

Manual sunroof winder, still in mint condition $80

Yet to check the diff and suspension, will update this list over next couple of days.

Have some Silver Munroe shocks to fit the 51mm struts in an e30.

These shocks are immaculate in appearance and are as new in terms of response.

These shocks would have done one or two thousand ks max.

$120 for the pair plus postage.

This is the last chip i have left, i imported several and have sold all but one with great results.

This chip will fit bmw m20 172, 173 ecu's.

Manufactured and developed by Hermes these chips offer safe power increases by adjusting fuel and ignition curves as well as lifting the limiter 500rpm

I ran one myself and noticed an improvement in power and mid range torque.

Well worth doing for your track car/daily driver.

For sale, one excellent condition, ivory colored headlining, no marks, stains, rips, burns etc that are common with a lot of them. Color hasn't faded either.
