GRRRRRRRRR frustrating
Looks Like I have 2 replace 2 more dodgy injectors this time instead of not working they seem to be stuck open or something and just fouling up 2 individual plugs.
Hopefully
I can get it running smoothly tonight
Vid's will be made as soon as its not running like a bad of assholes

Thanks for the complement !!
It was quite fun to build and very do able for anybody with a mig welder a hacksaw and some decent files, i could not use the cut off saw half of the time due to the awkward shape of the mandrel bends.

Just a word of warning if you don't have a very relaxed WOF inspector:
I had that exact muffler on the E30 when I first got it on the road, and DAM was it LOUD!!!!
I'll find a clip of it somewhere. Try this!?!
I grabbed a low profile 40 series flowmaster and put that in the middle and it was super quiet.
Before I pulled off the road it was running just the 40'er at the rear (due to a driveshaft CSB change), and it was a bit on the loud side, but not like the original setup.
E30-323ti
We have had the finished exhaust on the car and its nice and quiet but with a nice growling sound
Edit > full exhaust system pic added ( crap pic I know )
Very respectable noise levels similar to an unmodified car just with a LOT LOT nicer sound to it.
Bad news is one of my injectors isn't firing so i have to rip apart half the car to change that with a spare one.

CamB
I was very keen on the Classic Car / Vero this my original Plan and it was going smoothly until they asked my age ( 20 ) turning 21 in Feb
None of the regular companies wanted anything to do with it as I was under 25
AMI subsidiary CLIC had a cheaper premium by about $200 but their excess was about $500 more
I am actually most impressed with auto club as much as their TV add sucks balls they do actually have quite a good deal going on for young people and the insurance is very comprehensive for modified cars.
It seems like even with a perfect driving record and 5 years insurance ( no claims ) companies still don't care about you.

Graham for the hilux
Yup its a vr4 Inter cooler core with my own mandrel bent piping on there,
More power more fuel economy, and engine temps lower = good because those 2.4 turbo diesels tend to crack heads
( mine has a brand new head along with full engine build + new pistons ect )
Auto clicks into top at much lower rpm which makes cruising along 50km roads much better to deal with
-
Oh Yes I do mean $700
and I have more exhaust building pictures too
Zaust goes under the sub frame E30 style, originally it goes over but the gap is too tight to get a 3" pipe in there.
So far it seems quite easy to build it under the car
Front section to turbo down pipe will be done tonight and then i need to add some rubber hangers
and its almost WOF time
-
WOOHOO
James now has full insurance cover for $9000 fire theft & glass
= Makes me happy
the bad is its going to set me back $700 a year
the price you pay for being 20 and owning a modified 3.0 turbo ..
-
That clip would be handy,
I have since decided to have a mid section muffler as well as a rear section muffler to help quiet things down.
It would be a bitch if it was still too loud after 2 muffler and a turbo to quieten it down

Starting about my Brand new engine was supposed to be a 1 day job and took me 2 months hah
-
Yup
I'm going for a WOF on monday ....eeeekk see what they can come up with to fail me on

I am one of the VERY VERY VERY lucky people to have access to a spacious work area with a welder, compressor, cut off saw, Drill press & all other sorts of tools.
Its not really so much about ability just having the space and the gear to actually do it.
All the same though I always make an effort to help out my mates, I even spent 3 weekends in the rain and mud helping Riley with his v8 as some people are not as lucky as me to have the space and tools to do the work
Oh yes thanks for the Compliment makes it all seem worthwhile ha.

Eurorec are OTT with prices! goto All cars and try them first.
I recently brought the following from Eurorec: Clutch pedal rubber (2nd hand), Two rear disc retainer screws(second hand and half rusty) and a clutch resivour cap (brand new) cost like $30 or something criminal. They must have had HEAPS of pedal rubbers and screws, I was expecting $15-$20 tops...maybe I live in a dream world ,
Glad i've brought most of my stuff off brent or mike and had it posted down here.
Nearly All of my E30 Parts came from auckland including 2 gearboxs front struts rear arms and all manor of various pieces.
this was because Eurorec charged a lot and were not very willing to deal
Henry you need to look into some cromoly steel Mounting arms unless you are to consider them a regular replacement item like a FL steering rack ......

I Got Started on my 3" exhaust today
Because I can't be stuffed building it go through the sub frame I am just going underneath, Car wont be real low or anything so it will be similar scrapage to an E30
Real simple 3" from the turbo right to the tip.
I still need to make the section from the sub frame to the down pipe

Hahaha thanks guys.
Its running pretty rough, need to get the timing light on there & to check all the plug gaps etc in case there is a cylinder missing a little bit
But DAM you can hear those Cams pulse away
I have just rebuilt the clutch master cylinder & bleeding it is such a god dam mission, Nissan decided to put a damper in between the master and the slave to make a 1 step bleeding process seem like a 12 step bleeding process
But yeah If I can get the exhaust built in time & the valve springs changed over I think I can make my appointment for the DYNO on the 21st

300zx, it is alive !!!!!!!!!
mawhahahaa
and it sounds a bit evil with an open 3" exhaust elbow
-
Sound like really cool wheels
I might be keen on a set of blanks to be drilled for 5 stud nissan fitment
-
Sounds like you asked for an off the shelf part in a box,
if you look on their website fill out their design form and they can build you anything
but I do agree that wasn't particulary helpfully from the manager

Kelford cams are very good, my dealing with them recently has been very positive.
I went with a regrind of my existing cams with specifications to suit my specific setup to maximise my combonation of parts rather than just simply adding a "lumpy cam"
( this is where having the cam designed to work with Wayneys headers could work fantasticly well )
A full engine freshen up is the way to do it properly.
However you do it, going with some cylinder head work & some of wayneys nice headers does sound like it would wake up the old E30 quite well

From 300zx.net it seems a 1990 - 1996 Z32 steering rack could be a potential swap
This is quoted from 300zx.net.nz
"Nissan have given their US-spec cars stiffer damping and quicker steering - 2.5 turns lock-to-lock than those intended for Europe- 2.7 turns lock-to-lock. According to the company's market research, those American drivers who buy sports cars value responsiveness above all else, while European buyers can make more use of high-speed stability."
I am not sure where this puts Jap models I would assume the same as the europe models at a 2.7 lock to lock ?

My old 320 loved having a manual gearbox and a 3.9 diff, however the first gearbox in that car was crunchy and had a noisy input shaft bearing and the experience of trying to drive an average condition gearbox smoothly or somebody else driving the car was not so pleasant.
in the end I fitted another ( far far better ) gearbox and the car felt much nicer to drive
This mattered to me, If you can get a known mint gearbox (HEll BM saved my balls on this one)
then I think you should go right ahead. But don't bother if the gearbox isn't up to spec.
Its one thing to have a nice quiet smooth manual 320i, it will get you round a bit quicker with roughly the same fuel economy ( again get a 2.5 motor if you can )
but to have a noisy hard to shift and rattly gearbox in an already slow car is worse than having an auto.
But consider again that once you have fitted a manual & 2.5 you are probally going to be looking out for 325 larger front struts & LSD
by the time you do all this you really have spent the Extra $2500 to just go and buy a 325 which already has most of this

Heh
Autobid kicked in at 99.99
