  1. Hey all Bimmersport fans Have just successfully converted my E34 535 M30 to manual and I must say what a difference it has made!, especially on the economy. Managed to line an auto version up at a set of lights the next day and he was keen to have a go, blitzed him by 4 or 5 car lengths I was pissing myself laughing!! Now moving on to bigger and better things , i'm considering adding a supercharger to her just to make it even more interesting. Looking at a SC12 supercharger out of a Toyota Levin and planting it where my air conditioning pump sits once it's all ripped out. BUT, i'm scared it won't be big enough even though i'm going to run standard compression etc etc with this. What do you think?? Would love to hear as much input as possible. Cheers guys!!!
  2. ANYONE WRECKING A 89 E34 5 SERIES IN THE SOUTH ISLAND?? After Left front door & front guard (grey also known as dolphin metallic), roof trim (sunroof & lights behind visors) & left rear door trim black with grey cloth insert. Cheers
  3. I did try the cluster I have out of the E34 i'm wrecking but that didnt seem to go too good either. Has no fuel or temp and still no LCD. Unless I have to go for one with the same numbers as mine
  4. Hey again brent It's an 89 E34 535. Was around the 356 mark
  5. Having major dash issues. Can be driving along and speedo, rev, fuel and temp gauges tend to fluctuate aggressively, also the handbrake light tends to flash but with no dinging! One min it can be good the next it's not. Secondly ive got no LCD what so ever, no odometer no nothing. Does the dash run through a computer or is this a dash issue. Was told not so long ago that the LCD crapping out is a common fault on these. Would be good to shed some light on this topic cheers!!
  6. had a strange feeling it was. Googled a few sites and seemed to look different. Cheers man!!
  7. Trying to locate it and what it looks like cheers
  8. Hi Guys I require a rear camber kit to suit my 89 E34 5 series which is lowered. Wheels camber out way too much when I have a full car load, also it's eating out my brand new tyres within 6 months which aren't cheap at all! Will eventually be investing in Munroe shocks and slightly lower rear springs so the car sits even and tight, so this kit will come in handy to sort my rear camber issue out once and for all. Hope someone can help!!!
  9. Having trouble with my computer. I seem to have PPPP come up on the on board and nothing seems to appear on my dash, not even my mileage. What could it be????
  10. Hi again brent You have an LSD for a E34 535 do you?
  11. Hi Kiwi Congrads in finding a manual, like I say very rare and lucky to score one at a cheap enough price. Like quailboy said k's aren't a big issue these engines are one of the stronger engines built by BMW, they just keep going as mine has proven. Wit yours you're considering in buying, be sure there's no misses or strange noises and take it for a good test drive first. See if you can take it to the open road as well. You will have a big grin on your face as soon as you notice the power these manuals have. Automatics are thirsty versions has you are constantly on the accelerator . It was a manual version I drove down from Picton. Done it in my Auto as well, cost me about $80 compared to the $50 in the manual. I wouldn't be too worried about air-con, we hardly use it these days, especially in New Zealand, had mine ripped out the best thing I ever did. If you do decide to stick with an automatic, and you are lucky enough to pick up a manual conversion kit, try to find an authorized BMW mechanic who knows his BMW's to do the work, guaranteed to be done correctly that way. I'm a freshman into the BMW world myself, after owning one I couldn't go back to owning a Japanese vehicle. Euro are built a lot better and stronger, not just slapped together. Keep up the good hunt! Here's a pic of my 535
  12. Hey I own a 535, have for 18 months now and had nothing wrong with it. K's are on the very high side, 354,000 but doesn't miss a beat. Before I bought it, had a new head put on it as it was warped due to the head gasket going plus was a bit noisy. No knocks down below, all sounding sweet. Manuals are very rare, i'm very lucky to pick up a manual conversion for mine which I will be starting very soon. Could be paying anything between $800 - $1500 for a complete conversion kit if not more!!! Leather is great had no probs with that side of things either. Fuel side, it's a bit thirsty but if you nanner it, you can get quite far in it. Got from Picton to Christchurch on $50 gas, thats when the petrol was at teh $1.70 odd P/L. Good luck on your hunt!!
  13. Hey man Doing conversion on my E34 535 aswell. Got my clutch off a guy on here SRBMW, if you haven't got one yet try get hold of him, he got me one imported from Canada, heavy duty round the $570 mark for the kit. Still using the dual mass which is a bit of a bummer, if I knew I could of got one from an E28 before I got the clutch, I would have, o well, wait till the clutch goes bang Going to be ripping the engine out, alot easier that way with more room. After pointers myself, electrical and computer wise etc etc. Will be starting it soon so keep me posted on how yours goes!!

  18. they have only just recently enforcing it, might be in the 2008 BUT in saying that, ive looked in the road code online, still found nothing, so i'm stumped on that one too
  19. the thing is, she could have stopped safely which she didn't even bother trying, just kept coming at me. Lights went red just as she hit me. From what ive heard from mates etc, i'm aloud to enter the intersection if i'm the first car, others behind me have to stay behind the white line
  20. there are no arrows at that intersection, just your normal. Like I say, I was waiting in the middle of the intersection (first car in the cue) the lights turned orange, waited for the first car, I began my turn, noticed she wasn't stopping I stopped she slammed on her brakes and plowed into me. Fact of the matter is, she had time to stop. There was a good 4 or so second gap between her and the other car. Orange light had come on just before the car in front of her
