Just wondering if anyone out there can source a CCC unit from europe to convert gps from Jap setup to NZ version. Maybe Jochen if you read this may be able to help. BM worshop (Guido) thinks if we get another unit we can do something. Thanks.

As others have already mentioned the 540 has the 4.4litre engine,but after owning both cars I can tell you the 540motosport will blow the pants off your 740 especially in the handling area.Motosport suspension and the rest of the package work extremly well.Due to this the smaller car feels alot quicker.The only problem I ever had was a worn out water pump.Strong engines and transmission.Good luck.

There are plenty on trademe. Quite hard to move them due to gas prices,so you should get a good deal.

Time may well prove you to be correct,however there are plenty of folk out there who have done the same on the E39 540. One can also understand if there is no demand for a 545 system then delopment would grind to a halt.Lets just watch this space and see what happens. Thanks

After some hunting found an interesting company who can supply the goods to happily blow a 545i. They are in Anaheim california and the kit looks very impressive.Boosting 6psi and the software reconfigured,they are claiming a 40% increase over stock engine.Just wondered have members anywhere had any experience or contact with V F Engineering. Any members tried to fit a spare and jack in the trunk of a 545i motosport ? Not a big wheel well. 18inch rim and tyre will not fit ! Need to do something as Ive dumped the original runflats. Thanks.

2005 545i motosport. have read the notes from other members,and while I'm aware of the 10second thing and the button behind the idrive knob,the only way to get it to turn off is to turn the car off, and then start again. Looks like a trip to the dealer ? thanks

Engage reverse and she does the job with the on screen graphics etc but engage drive and it wont turn off.Any members know how to change this setting ? thanks. silverlea

Anyone had any experience with the runflat tyres on Jap import beamers ? Brutally hard riding to say the least.

He converted my Jap import 2001 540 motosport to the complete NZ GPS system.Extremley clever man. Does anyone on the forums know if he is still in NZ ? The web is choker with aftermarket kits to convert H7 halogen system on my 540 to the real deal xenon setup.There are also many warnings on whos who in this market.Is there anyone out there that has actually done the converison ? These kits are 2bulbs (for the lowbeam side)........2ballasts and starter to supply the 20,000volts that ignites the gas in the bulbs,and the wiring looms to suit. They claim 3-4times the lite over halogen systems ??? Chers. silverlea.

Do most of you out there consider the nonvanos 4.4litre engine to be pretty bulletproof ? Ive had mine for quite a while,and whacked up alot of miles and many gallons of gas later ! Doesnt use a drop of oil,pulls as hard as it did 3years ago,and to be honest i do drive it hard here in rural New Zealand.To those of you in the know,what do i need to look out for now i have 267,000kilometres on the clock ?
