  1. Hi guys, just wondering if someone can help me out here.

My daily 1998 E46 318i Gearbox (Auto) has just givenup ghosts for the second time during my ownership and now facing another big repair bill unless I can find a cheaper solution.

I know Ray has few 318i Gear box from a 1997 E36 318i and I believe they are the same brand (GM) as whats on my car.

Are they the same? or is it possible to use the e36 318i gearbox on my e46?

Any input would be much appreciated.

  6. Bought from Ray at HellBm few days ago after convincing him to part with it for the last... hmmm, I dont remember how long ago. As always he was pleasure to deal with and I was very surprised how well this drives as this is my 1st ever E30. Converted to 325i from a 320i Touring with all the running gear and lower ends etc by Ray.

Now I am spoilt for choice every sunny weekends with this and my m3... LOL

    Enjoy guys!

  7. Last year was the year of the e36 M3 but it was sold after it developed a seemingly irreconcilable engine misfire!?!

And you sold it to my mate and you knew this? He had to spend fortunes on it!!! Luckly hes not my mate anymore and I heard he totalled it.

  8. IMO the touring is better! But that is entirely up to what you want the car for, and I am biased :P . I dont know of any for sale either unfortunately. You could see if rays one is still for sale?

Rays is for sale yeah. Buy it. Its naaiiiis

Done! Bought Ray's Ex HellBM Touring today and drove home. Very Suprised at its power. Drives very smooth... I cant feel much Torque Difference between this and my M3.

  9. Thats a nice car, as long as everything looks fine when you check it out you should go for it! If you can hold out and find a touring for sale you should wait, they are well worth the effort of waiting.

So you recon the Touring is better to get if there was a choice between this one and a touring? Hmmmm...... I know there is one for sale...
