I thought they had to be legally parked too, which that one does not look to be as its on the grass verge if a motorway.

We have the exact same BBQ.

Understandable, its turbo two door vehicle and therefore is a high performance sports car, so high risk of both accident and theft. The funny part is AMI wanted $1456 per year for full cover on the Suzuki.

The movie about him is quite long (2-3hrs), but good.

How about this, right at the end of that article
On the way back down the ranges, a green Mazda stationwagon begins tailgating us, the driver painfully unaware just who she is following.
Mr Polglase (the Police officer) glances in the rear vision mirror and quickly loses patience.
The lights and sirens go on - and this driver has just made an incredibly stupid blunder.
A quick check on the driver and her vehicle finds the offence of following too closely will be the least of her problems.
The vehicle's warrant of fitness has expired. A $200 fine. Its registration has, too. Another $200. The number plate has been illegally swapped over from a Ford Escort. $150. The car will need to be pink-stickered. $600.
But worst of all, the driver, a social worker from Huntly, has only a learner's driver licence - and her children, aged 14 and 3, are sitting in the back.
Puffing nervously on a cigarette and complaining down her cellphone about the predicament, the visibly upset driver lashes out at Mr Polglase: "You're making me lose my faith in the police."
But the driver, who it's found is not the owner of the stationwagon, is herself let go lightly with a fine of about $500.
Say what? Someone gets pulled over for flashing their lights while this other person is endangering multiple lives and gets off with only a $500 fine?

BMW accident
in News
I don't see why is important the crash had a combined speed of 200km/h. IMO just media hamming it up.
For the occupants of each car it is like hitting a brick wall, the speed of the other car does not matter so much. E.g. two cars hitting head on each traveling at 100km/h have two bonnet lengths of car before occupants are impacted.
1 car traveling at 100km/h hits a stationary object head on, has 1 car lengths bonnet to crumple before occupants are impacted.
Results in same impact to occupants, provided all crashes are head on (and so fair in a test).

In a car which doesnt adjust the timing to stop pinging on low octane fuel, yeah it'd probably be worse than diesel. I'd imagine the diesel would simply not ignite? But I may be wrong, whereas the low octane fuel would combust unexpectedly and violently, melting your pistons and making a right mess
2002 Nissan Sunny, FB15, 1.5L Auto. Was running a bit rough and unsure why. Engine would cut out when you came to a stop at traffic lights. Once moving it went ok. Turned out was running on two cylinders which was a bit odd. Someone had filled it with diesel.

Sorry, sold ages ago.

you end up with lots of Barter dollars and limited places to spend them.
This. Company I work for use them any part of our sales incentives are paid in barter dollars. Find it very hard to spend them so end up buying stuff I otherwise wouldn't.
If you could spend them at the supermarket or petrol station it would be useful.

There is something fishy about this vehicle. It was for sale 2-3 years ago when I was looking for one and the plate history seemed a little dodgy.
Currently plates on vehicle are NN2002, but the reg label is for NN2oo2 as the o's have /'s through them.
Maybe it was just left for a while and was de-reg'd by accident, I am unsure. But when people carjammed it and worked out the plate change, they asked on trademe and the seller wouldn't answer. Ended up pulling the auction.

Bump and price drop to $80.00

What sort of money do you boys reckon this is worth? 4-5K??
I'm quite keen on it but not at this price, esp for a 318 auto...but is a very tidy wee car.
I've had mine on trademe for almost two months now. Started asking for 6.5k and have dropped to 5.5k but not much interest which suggests either no one wants them or price is too high.
Mine is similar spec and condition http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=308311419

You should keep dealing with the store as CGA states the retailer has to provide the replacement, and then the retailer is to take the issue up with the manufacturer of the item.
-
Quick advice, was the phone a company purchase? If so items purchased by a company are not covered by the CGA. If its a personal purchase, then fire ahead.

What tow company is this? Storage cost sounds very over the top, numerous companies I have dealt with have change $10-$15 per day (with $15 being high & very uncommon).
I think it is fair to presume the insurance company would cover the cost of towing and storing the damaged vehicle, and I would suggest you read your policy documents to check if you are concerned.
Also I did not think the police decided who was at fault for accidents, they only impose fines if a law is broken. Liability is left up to the insurance company/ies to decide as they are the ones paying out.

I had mine done at BMW in Taka when I first got it, but AMI requires a valuation each year for the insurance. Requirement for the valuation is that it is done by someone who is a RMVT, which Jucy Rentals (my employer) are, so I just write myself a valuation each year and have one of the managers sign it.
If you have an issue getting one at a dealer let me know and we can sort something.

How about an ex rental car? like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-308003785.htm
I have one, a corolla wagon, great for around town and being a car you can just drive without worrying about typical e30 things.

Falling off the page bump.

Thanks.
Have purchased a new car that's younger than his, but has done more than three times the km's. A cheap and nasty corolla!

I like the comments section on turners stating:
"This vehicle is registered as a BMW M3 with NZ Transport Authority, however we cannot confirm its authenticity. Please make up your own mind."
