Isn't the cause of this also due to high current blower motors, due to debris blocking them.

I recall this was an issue, where people have been known to buy new units only for them to fail very quick because of the straining motor.

Might pay to check yours out and clean out the housing.

Yeah I think this is definitely the final stage, it works perfect sometimes then will stop, it comes on and off every 15 mins or so. If its not the final stage when I will know to dig deeper, just going for the most common fault first haha

Just after a final stage resistor for my E36, fan is intermittent which is going to drive me crazy when I actually would like to use the air con.

So if anyone has a working one or can point me in the right direction, other than the dealer. It would be much appreciated!

Hey, just thought I would ask if anyone knows of a place or someone who does vinyl wrapping, need my bonnet and trunk lid done?

Used to be a few people on trade me that did it but not anymore it seems and I have zero patience to do it myself..

Old E36 isn't really worth getting the bits repainted really haha

I kind of don't hate it. In a more 1999 kind of way. Sans mirrors a guard vent it's not terrible, just 90's...

As per most E36 posts, failing of the awesome plastic cooling parts.

My poor old run around seems to have got a hairline crack in the water flange at the rear of the engine, so I haven't been driving it but just wondering if anyone has replaced this part or can point me in the right direction to someone who I can send it to have it fixed.. Don't really want to dump a huge amount of cash into such an old car. It's a pretty tight spot so yeah just thought I'd ask and see on here if someone knows a trick to it or what ever. Attached should be a pic from RealOEM of the flange (9).

I remember being 15 learning to drive in a S420, was like driving a tank, loved it. Not as much as the CL65 I had in the states a year or two back. Huge 2 door Mercs are the best haha

Today I played about with some Plastidip. Now my E36 is nothing but black haha

So my passenger window on my E36 doesn't work and it never bothered me because I hardly ever drive it and when I do it's usually cold and winter.

Anyway I'm just wondering what other peoples thoughts are on fixing it. The regulator and everything else looks to be in working order only I think the problem is there is no power getting to it, as there is no noise or click coming from it when you try use the switch and I noticed at night the switch doesn't even light up.

Have switched switches in the fluke chance it would just be that easy (it never is)

So having said that what's the best way to try remedy this problem?

Changed my fan clutch in under 10 mins. Must be getting good at this fixing my car finally haha

Thanks for the images! How is the light dispersion? A few results online just showed what it looked like when aimed at a wall in close range to see if the factory lens's could handle the HIDs

I guess I'll have to do the same but pretty sure it's a clean line with slight flicks up to the right of each side

Here's my old E36 a few years ago. The first picture was the result I got from using blueish halogens and CCFL angels.. And the second picture is my current E36 with HIDs and LED angels. So the halogens were pretty close to being like the HID just slightly less blue and not as intense. Still looked good though.

Haha yeah US spec BMWs are much more disposible. That's why you can buy a brand new 3-Series there for only $37,000

I guess your best bet is to get a complete aftermarket lights that are made to accommodate HID lighting. I did it on one of my pre FL E39's otherwise it won't really be completely plug and play. You could always go the route of white/blueish halogen bulbs and angel eyes will still look decent and would be perfectly legal.
