  1. Damn - sorry to see man, mint seats !

I'm off to invent a window that 100% smashes outwards with a shower of super small super shards of glass at the speed of light. No matter how it's smashed, always blows outwards.

    That would be the sh*t.

  2. People here will put me right if I'm wrong:

Make sure the profile gasket and water pump has been replaced. When looking for my iS, allbeit a E36, I came across a wealth of info on the net for these E30's.

My opinion - best E30 out there ( besides M3 of course )

    Good luck

  4. You most likely have a short somewhere. Not familiar with this model thou.

Have a good look around the wiring loom where the door and boot open/close. It may just be pinching a live wire?

Try replicating the fault. Use the windows ( all the switches for the rear windows seperatly ), then doors, then boot seperatly. See which one blows the fuse, and go from there.

Window motor shorting maybe?...... you get the gist.

  5. The leather in my e36 is looking a bit dry in places, does anyone know what the best leather care product is on the market.

Ideally I want something that will make the seats look like new again. I want to aviod products that will make the leather shiny and look tacy. Any healp would be great. Cheers.

I have a product from a customer of mine that I use on my leather.

When I got it it was hard as... as in if you put you knee into the seat base it would almost split. Ok maybe not split, but defenitly groaned and left a crease.

After 2 months of treating it, it was soft again and very nice.

I'm selling mine soon, so proberly won't need it anymore. PM me you details and i'll send you the rest when it sells, hopefully soon.

It's kinda like panteen shampoo, won't happen overnight, but will happen

    :D

  7. all this rubbish about being a bad driver.

I'd put a $100 bet that some *ahem* black had stolen it and was on his way home to south auckland in a hurry.

Yeah - sue me - ban me - for using the B word.

I'm still VERY pissed some *ahem* <as above> walked into my office last friday and walked out with my laptop under his arm... witnessed by someone to pussy to say anything before those PC greenies scream OMG you said blah blah. Cry me a river.

My office has a new sign on entrance, verbatim:

    KNOW THIS:

    IF YOU ARE CAUGHT STEALING

OR EVEN LOOK LIKE YOUR ARE ABOUT TO STEAL FROM THIS PREMISE

    YOUR SKULL WILL BE CRACKED

YOU WILL NOT BE TAKEN TO THE POLICE

YOU WILL NOT BE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL

YOU WILL NOT COLLECT YOUR NEXT BENIFIT

I WILL, HOWEVER, TAKE YOU ON MY NEXT FISHING TRIP

IN A BURLEY POT. YOUR FAMILY WILL BE ON MY NEXT TRIP.

    KNOW THIS.

  8. Damn - wicked. I would of been under the car first spin myself.

A little tip for those who do come across this - it helps a little ( and if the hole/leak isnt HUGE ) to only tighten the fuel cap half ie: loose enough to let the pressure out the filler hole.....obviously, this is a getya home thing if it's not dribbling over your exhaust!!!!

    What did the fix cost?

Edit: Oh - seems you used a hammer and stuff to fix it yourself..heh

  9. This reminds me of a situation I was in about 5 years ago. I had a 'private car' which I kept at home, and used a work ( my company van ) van to and from work, which is loaded with about 10K work of diag equipment and tools. Needless to say, this was kept in the lock up garage, and the private car was on the street.

At the time I was living in a street with a very narrow road, and this plonker in big 4WD would always park right opposite my car, and between the two not a car and a bike at the same time could pass through. My car was parked there all week besides maybe 4 hours during the whole weekend, week in week out.

I got fed up with this ( purely because I was thinking of others on the road ) so I started to park my car half on / half off the verge. No fire hydrant or anything, and I would mow the city verge every 2 weeks.

The VERY next day, I got a parking ticket for, get this, 'Inconsiderably parking' or a fine to that effect.

    WTF!

I pleeded my case and yes I got off. But Another, then another.... but just printed my saved letter every time. I found ( not hard! ) the coppers name whom had joy in getting his quota, and resorted to leaving a letter on my dash to him, with the replys I had, and clearly asking him to f**k off and bust some one who was breaking the law and bashing up old grannies if he had the balls.

No more tickets, but for some unknown reason I went through about six car door locks that had been screw-drivered. No break ins, just vandalism.

    Funny that, eh copper bearch.

  10. Wouldn't go out even just kayaking without the PFD. The only thing I haven't got is a Net to land the biggies and a Gaf. Just haul them in by hand.

I've made paddle leashes, anchor leashes, carry rope. Hell, in rough weather I lease myself to the boat. Being so calm on Saturday, I wasnt leahed to the boat. By god it would of made me feel alot more secure haha

  11. Yeah I know. I live at Kohi beach, so a nice flat run around the bays to the marina is all it's gonna do.

I'm seriously considering selling the BMW, and getting a cherokie or similar to do the job.

Bummer to see the bimmer go, but hey, better than putting it in the drink or ripping it's ass to pieces.

Looking at a 16+ foot boat now to.

Edit: possably a cheapo 4x4 to just to tow and launch.
