  1. I will be attending the Albany meeting on Thursday and will have my car with me with the mirrors fitted, so anyone who is there can see the problem and try and help me sort out the problem.
  2. That is not an E36 M3 mirror, well not the same as mine anyway and mine are definately genuine BMW.
  3. Absolutely correct, you cannot swap the base plates. I have been told that the mounting that the mirror sits on can be adjusted to some extent but I have no idea how to get into the mechanism. I will be attending the Albany meeting next Thursday and will have the car with me so if any of you guys are there you will be able to see my problem.
  4. I've put my car on a diet. Instead of 98 the poor girl now has to make do with 95 octane
  5. I don't think the glass is the problem as the stalks on what is now the left hand mirror is somewhat longer than the stalks on the drivers side.
  6. I have just cut and pasted this from land transport re the details about my car. Vehicle Description Vehicle Type Passenger Car/Van Engine No. 256S-121198 Chassis Number WBABF82060EP82582 CC Rating 2,490 Colour BLACK Country of Origin Germany Power kW Assembly Type Imported Built-Up Prev. Country Japan No of Seats 5 Gross Vehicle Mass 1,685kg Alt. Fuel Type Unknown Fuel Type Petrol Last WOF Inspection 19/03/2008 Pass Last WOF Expiry 19/09/2008 So it seems it just might be a 2.5 ltr engine.
  7. I purchased a pair of M3 rear vision mirrors for my E36 coupe. Yes they were cheap ($100.00) however once I fitted them I realised that they had come off a left hand drive vehicle. They look so much better than the standard mirrors so I have left them on. Does anyone here know the best way to adapt these so that I don't have to lean foreward or backwards to see with them.
  8. The car is a Japanese import, It was purchased as a 325 and once it was complied the MR2A had the cc rating as 2,500 cc. I can only go by what they said.
  9. Yes the car has clear rear indicators. You may have also noticed the chrome front grill which is aftermarket and fitted in Japan before I purchased it.
  10. The badge is not some cheap Taiwanese copy, I've had the car for some 19 months now with the badges on and there is no sign of deterioration yet, cross fingers BTW I see that there is a meeting each month at Albany, does it still happen?
  11. Sorry Quailboy but it's an auto. What I spent a long time looking for was an E36 M Sport Coupe in black. My preference was for a 328 5 speed but after 6 months looking I ended up with the 325 Auto. Still a great car though. I have done a fair amount of work on the car, eg 18" alloys, M3 spoiler, flared the rear guards, and recently added M3 rear vision mirrors.
  12. It's an after market M Sport badge. It came with the car when i imported it.
  13. Hi people I'm a newbee to this site. I only became aware of it today. I live in Papatoetoe, Auckland, New Zealand., and drive a 1996 BMW 325i Motorsport coupe. I will try to post a picture of it, but as I'm new to this site, it may not work.
