could someone point me in the right direction of getting some genuine philips d2s bulbs?
prefer a local supplier as i purchased some from ebay which turned to be fake
thanks

not sure about getting wheels polished but i can highly recommend elite wheels for repairs
got 2 wheels fixed by them before and they made them just like new
-
my car has one of these kits and i always wondered do they work well? and are they bad for your tyre if you want to get the tyre repaired?
-

a service is about $4XX depending on what needs to be done, brakes are about $1600, coils $800ish but you can always go aftermarket parts now and dont have to take it to a bmw dealer
great car to drive with a very good chassis.....but i have driven the new range of bmw's and man they are even better lol

we have a 05 320i (e90) had it coming up to 5 years now and the first three years when it was under warranty was great with no problems.....after the warranty it was problem after problem from front brakes, rear brakes, coils, oil leak, window washer, door handles, air vent....etc
the car now has only done 37,000km!!
i dont have any real advise, our car was purchased from bmw and has been fully serviced from them, so getting a pre-purchase check would help

Thanks Neal, I will check out those articles
-
thank you we always wanted one like this and this way we dont have to spend any money making it look this way!! thanks for the tip, will upgrade to 165's on the next tyre change
do you know what type of engine oil would be best?
-
All sounding good then. BTW, those old mini's become very addictive.
I've got one side of the garage full with two & half minis from the 1960's. One is still leaking oil dispite having not being moved / started for 6 years !
i hope one mini is enough for us as we are running out of room to park our cars haha

I can recommend bridgestone S001, great amount of grip
-
Thank you for all the replies
We spoke to the owners and they have maintain the car very well, only rust found was under the windscreen and he got that repaired. It sounds like they have not spared any cash on it and truly looked after it

Heh same spec as the one Richard Hammond uses in the latest Top Gear episode.
I like it!
i think Hammonds one was a john works cooper, it had bigger guards than his one
if i do get one i wont be winching anything with it
-
thanks elmarco
seems like rust is always a issue with mini's no matter what year it was made in. As for the other faults i know of a good mechanic which can take care of any leaks around the engine
-
thinking to get a mini and came around this one on trademe
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=437054050
is there anything to look out for? also what do you guys reckon on the price?
-
Thanks Mark, will go check them out at the weekend.
also try rj patterson
i got very good advise and service from them

to really get used to a SMG is either drive one for about 2 weeks or drive one hard on a race track
what colour do you want to get?
-
Mine came from a racecar in the UK, then were sent to KW Racing in Germany for a full overhaul. Actually half of the kit is brand new and the other half completely rebuilt back to new. I deal with KW Motorsport directly as a privateer customer. All their race stuff is customised, the CSL cup stuff have their own settings based around the CSL.
cool thanks, i just wondered if you got them from a local trader, as i am looking for a set of v2
good luck with the sale.....back on topic
-
Sorry for being off topic but who did you get your kw's from?KW Race shocks 2 way adjustable straight out of a CSL Cup car Then I pulled them out because it was making the car undriveable on the street - so at the moment OEM shocks and springs
Thanks

condition and colour of the interior trims?
thanks

your tony's sounds good, my local one is very pushy and everything is a add on costBut does Tony's give better service and stand behind their work , give good advice etc.
I would rather pay an extra $20 to $30 a tyre and know that the tyres are being fitted by some one competent and they will put all the wheels back on properly at the correct pressures and with all the nuts tightened correctly.
i purchased a set of re001 about a couple of years ago and were very pushy with the sale trying to add on wheel alignment, tyre disposal cost, new tyre valves. I even had to push them to waive the fitting and balancing cost when all other places were built into the price they quoted
overall i would rate their service as poor
-
Yes I'm in christchurch, hopefully Tony's will price match. Thanks for the information.
tony's will only price match if you go to them with a printed quote from the cheaper shop....as if the cheaper shop is going to give you a printed quote....save your time and hassle and just buy from the cheaper shop
time and time again i find tony's NOT the cheapest and its best to ring around
