  1. Those wheels look mint. I love the hood you have. Currently I am looking for a gtr hood but non carbon. Same style as you. Saw one in Thailand a few months back but the quality was totally poor and not worth it at all. Your car looks totally mean.
  2. Hi bro, Car is looking great mate! That hood is mad. Civic style scoop? Currently trying to figure paint job for mine. We have a place in Palmy called cruising customs. The guys in there have been totally awesome for me over the past few months. Mate, that car of yours is already turning into a real looker.
  3. Nice! Thats what I like, friggin fantastic cars.
  4. Cheers mate, Thats the inital response I was chasing with the car. Once the outside is all finished (I am still tossing up on a total color change). Bonnet done and all other bits and peices. There is still more I want out of the performance. I am still hunting ideas of what I can do engine wise. Turbo or Supercharge ideas have just gone to muk. They are too hard to do and still will not produce the power I was looking for. Does good for a small engine though not on pick up but top speed aint half bad. I asked when I joined this forum about engine transplants. Now I am heading into thinking about an import engine. I love what Nu-Del is doing. Thats the friggin ticket. Nissan engines are great for adding up the HP and not too expensive for the amount of power you get. Personally a dream would be to drop in an RB26 DETT nismo but lotto only offers me bonus tickets. I have spent a fair few bucks so far so justifying an engine replacment is easy price wise. The hard part is finding people who are willing to share their trials and tribulations. Not to mention a tuner willing to look into the project. I may just drop down to see Nu-Del's project unfold every now and again with a notebook.
  5. Holy Crap! Mate, this is the ticket. This is what I am talking about, friggin crazy stuff. I love it.
  6. Thanks guys, Bravo, yeah mate. The next step is a new bonnet. Currently seeking a GTR style one with the M3 lump. Found a few online but they are all carbon fibre. In all honesty I wanted to have it painted and match the car but if I end up with a carbon one I dont know if I paint it or not. If anyone knows where to get one that is not carbon, hit me a line. Yeah so far spent a fair bit of money but I planned to spend a bit and still planning on spending alot more. Nu-Del, mate just looked at what your doing. Fan-friggin-tastic mate. I look foward to you coming up brother and look foward to seeing that ride of yours when she is finished. I have been seeking a guy who has done a transplant like your planning so I will be picking your brain mate.
  7. Cheers guys Johno, go for it mate.
  8. Mpulsive The Bumper is Rieger in Germany, and the rest of the kit. Most of the mods have been top parts. from the outside the next step is a new hood and the cosmetic side of it will be done. braeden. Yeah mate, thats it. I park on the other side of the carpark now. Too many guys hanging around the car park breaking into cars. Quailboy So far, Carbon Dynamic Airbox by BCM, full exhaust system supersrpint. Next step is a manual box with a good lite flywheel and long final drive. The S gear in the auto does that by winding out the gears but I would rather have control. The S Gear changes up at about 100km but the pickup still is not fast enough. I have had it just under 200km but it took a while to get there. Then I am still doing research on what upgrades I can do to the engine. Some of the places I have been dealing with have given some really good ideas. Still keen on an engine swap in the near future. It has been the hardest car to do up that I have ever worked on but worth the challenge so far. I still have alot I want to do with the car both outside and under it. The Mags are from the cats at Palmys Mag N Tyre direct. Great guys, heaps of laughs and have helped me and the missus with her car alot. Totally recommend those guys. They are not euro style mags but I wanted something different, I wanted something that will stand out.
  9. Hi guys I have been floating around this forum for a little while now. Mainly getting ideas and inspirations. I brought this car a few months back and new very little about BMW. This is what I have done so far. Still alot I want to do and will be doing. Sure I have added a few things that may not belong but it helps the style. I have never done up a euro car before and this has proved to be harder than any car I have worked on before.
  10. Mate, I have a pair of lights from the exact same model that you are more than welcome too. If you are still keen, $80 and pay for courier and they are yours. They are the full ones, with rotation motor ect. They need a clean but otherwise they are in great condition. Here are some pics,
  11. Beautiful mate, When I was living in Florida I was driving a 73 Vega. Looks similar but didnt have the nuts as the 70s Camaros. My favorite car is the 70 SS Chevelle. 454 V8 that idels like a paint shaking machine, lovely. A mate had one similar to your dads and he lost it on the Onehunga bridge corner coming into Mangere about 15 years ago. Car was screwed but he was alright after a while. Sadest crash I have ever known cos god decided to take the wrong one LOL. I am a chev fan above all else. My grandfather had a 55 210 and thats the wagon I learnt to drive in. Since then I have owned only my old vega but played around with heaps of chevs. I dropped a 350 into my old Torana and never had a problem with the engine till I sold it 8 years later. This car is awesome mate. In the 70s Fords mustangs lost there grunt to this cars style. I love your dads taste. Thats a real car!
  12. LOL, sounds like my reply I got. True though. I am in the same boat mate. Brought a car with the concept of a project. The engine is my main problem at the moment. Spent a hell of alot of money in the past 4 months on bodykit, lights, trims, ice, alarm (biggest problem), and a few days back MAGS. Because I am chopping and changing mine I opted for aftermarket mags a little different to the usual euro look. I went into mag and tyre direct here n Palmy and had the guys (fantastic blokes) throw on some 18s. They ride fine and I didnt have to dump it. Got a mate who brought a 96 a week back who is now gonna do it up so we will be watching your progress too mate. We have played with a few jap toys and aussie ones but BMW are friggin hard. But I love the challenge. There is a cat in Oz with a 318i around the same year as you with an STI turbo. Saw it in a magazine recently. Japan has a few 316s done up to the hilt. I will try hunt down that website and let ya know.
  13. Yeah, regarding the badges. I got a few thrown in with the rear one. The mags are going on monday, these ones http://www.magandtyredirect.com/wheeldetail.php?rc=2037 Kit is currently getting painted and goes on Friday next week. Regarding it not being an M car. I guess its not right to stick the wrong badges on it but I wanted a bit of class and grunt to go with the style. It aint a CSL M3 either but I have got the front of one going on it. Once I do all I can to the engine she will be worth it. I used to have an LX Torana that was not an SLR 5000 Torana but had the SLR kit on it. It was also holding a 350chev and 2 reasonable sized hollies, munchie gearbox and LSD diff with a 100ltr drop tank. It may not have been an SLR 5000 but it would have eaten any stock SLR any day of the week. Like I said, this car is a project. I have paid for all the mods that are being done at the moment. I opted for a respray of the hood instead of the full spray right now and that left me with a few more grand to play with the engine. Currently looking at superchargers so if anyone knows of a place (trust worthy place) to buy one from, let me know. The rear lights do look jap car style but hopefully with the kit it will look a little tasteful. cheers for the comments.
  14. Just updated the original post on page one.
  15. Yeah, initially I didnt want to opt towards a turbo or supercharger but it is more and more leaning towards these options. Price wise at least they are quite affordable. My Caldina has twin turbo and although it has a little bang it is not as much as you should expect from a sportyish car. Supercharging it may be the best alternative. The only real problem even doing this is that the little engine is still going to look ugly. I have sent a few emails out trying to hunt down some type of engine cover also. Similar to what is available for 320's and up. So far no joy.
