  1. Yeah that just replaces the bulbs, try that, but it may not fix the problem if you have what's known as "dead pixels".

There is a DIY to fix the dead pixels which I have tried and it kind of worked but not totally.... Ray @ HELLBM sells OBC's with working pixels for $50. I'm just gonna buy a new one from him.

$50 huh? Thats cool, means its not too costly if I mess something up haha

  2. Thanks for that Mr. Miller, I've printed that out and it looks like it might save me a bit in technician's fees.

Haha no problem, Its not so much about paying somebody else to do it for me. Its my car and I wana work on it, not just a weekend driver;) I know every person on here knows what I mean

  3. Hey team!

Ive got an e36 323i and my computer display is failing at life. When you want to check something only some of the LCD display works, if you run your finger along the LCD display you can see the information but its all faint. Also last week the back lighting on my clock failed but it came back to life.

    Any ideas?

  4. Im looking to get rid of my cats just because I feel I want the car to breath better. Is there any advantage in replacing the cats with a resonator or am I just wasting time?

I just put a K&N panel filter up front so now its time for the back end

  5. So heres a funny question, I want to have my cadillac converter removed from my exhaust system so i go into pit stop where the dude tells me I have two of them...WTF? Shouldnt the big one be the resonator and the small one the cat?

Its on a 1996 323i if anyone has an idea on this. Also, is it going to do anything at all to performance and sound? Saving the whales isn't worth the horsepower to me. What have whales ever done for us? nothing, thats what!!! ;)

  6. Actually wrong, the M52 engine was designed with economy in mind and does significantly better than the earlier M50 engines

And if yuo run it on 98 you should see at least 520 km from 55 litres - I get as much as 570 and I dont drive like a nana best range for an M52 is 2,000 to 3,500 RPM - if you do the maths that means it is MORE economical than running it on 95

Im curious to know why using a higher octane fuel means more economy? I've been running my 1996 323i with the 2.5L on 98 and went from Auckland city to Hamilton, Hamilton to Ngatea and then back to the city on around $80 which I thorght was great considering I had to show everyone along the way why my BMW is better than their Hondas
