  1. Here's Shorty's entry - fresh off the camera tonight.
  2. Hey aespablo, come along and even if your camera doesn't do everything you want it to, you'll still be able to pick up pointers. Sorry for the late reply by the way, I didn't have email notification of replies on! My camera isn't a flash expensive camera, you can usually get some great images just from following some basic principles.
  3. Hey everyone, This workshop is coming up next week. I've just updated the location, the Apex Megacentre is directly opposite Sylvia Park. Let me know if you're planning to come along so I can get an idea of numbers. Also post any particular topics you want me to cover or have them ready to ask me on the night. The stuff that I'll be going through will be very much dictated by what you want to learn about.
  4. Sounds good, it's a great opportunity to meet people into the same sort of photography as well
  5. Hey guys, There are a few people here that missed out on the first one that I ran so I'm running another. Once again the format will be very similar and I'll tweak it as I get more experience in running them. It'd be a good idea for you guys to post what you want to be covered in the workshop. In summary, I'll be covering the basics of automotive photography - equipment, location, positioning, composition, angles, camera settings, natural light, background. You'll be shooting for most of the workshop and I'll be coaching you through the shots you take and giving you feedback. By the end of it, you should have a better understanding of the basic principles behind automotive photography and be able to shoot good photos reliably! I'm going to look for a location where we'll end up with some brilliant shots without too much mucking about! I picked a relatively challenging location out at the Wynyard quarter . Date: 5th April 2012 Time: 6:30pm Location: Top level in carpark, Apex Megacentre, 393 Mount Wellington Highway, Mount Wellington As an aside, I am looking for someone that has an office that they could lend me to run a photoshop workshop for those that are interested. It needs to have a projector and room for people to sit at a boardroom table. Cheers, Victor www.victoryuen.co.nz 021 168 7661
  6. 18 month calendar makes a lot of sense, I could definitely do that. Price may need to be adjusted to reflect the extra work but definitely workable.
  7. Hey everyone, I saw a few posts a while back in regards to a Bimmersport Calendar and I see that it's died a bit of a quiet death. Although I know we're into 2012 now, I thought there may still be people interested in me producing a calendar which I could start from say April/May 2012 through to April/May 2013. What I'm offering to do is travel around the country shooting cars of Bimmersport for a calendar or photobook (if the dates don't work for a calendar). I need to cover my costs so this going ahead would be totally dependent on the takeup of Bimmersport. I would require deposits and once we reach a threshold, I will travel as necessary to shoot the cars that are selected (by you guys voting) for the calendar. Given that I would need to travel, I estimate the price of the calendar would be $50.00 - this may change depending on numbers and location of vehicles. So would you guys be interested? For those that haven't seen my work, you can view it at www.victoryuen.co.nz. Cheers, Victor.
  8. Yup that's multiple exposures A lot of what makes a good photo comes down to composition and the location so it's very applicable even though you have a pocket camera. However, you will find yourself a little more limited when it comes to playing around with focus and multiple exposures. Sorry everyone for the late replies, I will subscribe to the topic to make sure I keep on top of replies. I'll have a look at my calendar and see when I can schedule another tutorial session. Sounds like there's a few people keen.
  9. e34play and Shorty, remember that multi photo image I was going to do? I've just edited it up and here's the finished result: Are there other people that are still interested in another workshop? If there are enough numbers I'd be happy to do another one. Alternatively, if people are interested in a photoshop tutorial, I could run one if someone has an office they could offer up with a projector?
  10. Good stuff Shorty, just gotta watch out with how you hold the camera otherwise you'll end up with shots slightly off horizontal level . Keep practicing and send your stuff through to me and I'll give feedback
  11. I'm not sure who the people are but they've all posted here: http://www.eurosport.org.nz/forum/viewtopi...?f=1&t=9211 There's about 6 or so people coming to that one. You're welcome to come along to that one .
  12. Plenty of parking if you want to come tomorrow
  13. Thanks Shorty and e34play, was great to meet you . Small turnout but thoroughly enjoyable still. For the people that weren't able to make it, I'm running another for Eurosport tomorrow at 630pm. Sorry for the haphazard communication from me. We spent a decent amount of time on the basics and I went through what I look for in my photos.
  14. Sorry guys I've been occupied and haven't had a chance to check the forum! I've attached a picture of the location. It's right down the end of Jellicoe Street. See you all there at 6:30pm
