I am looking for a DME to suit motor from 1994 320i, Must be non ews Or someone who can tell me how to get around ews on my current one if at all possible. I have googled and come up with lots and lots of useless info.

The info I have managed to find from the links doesn't really help a lot, Only says to buy a new ECU, There must be a way to get it to work without buying a new one?

The sump got a hole in it in the previous car this motor was in, It has been repaired by a specalist alloy welder so is as good as new, Just thought i'd mention it had been repaired. The GM Trans is one of the trans options fitted to some of the mid 90s 4cyl E36s

Can anyone assis me with an annoying issue? I just swapped my 92 318i motor to one from a 94 320i and am having issues getting it started, As the car wiring is a bit diffenent i can't determine if the car had some sort of immobiliser, There is an additional green wire in the X20 connector (Pin 7) which i think may be the issue. What signal is this expecting and how can i give it this signal from a 92 car? There was a lot more wiring under the dash of the 94 than the 92 but surely there must be a way to make it work? HELP!!!

Come on...someone must need a cheap motor? I believe there will be no issues putting this in a car with a manual, As mentioned get the dme reflashed to suit the manual gearbox It includes the EWS II Module and all the wires attached so a clever person could just fit it to their car with the ews system as well or source another ECU from a pre EWS car and off you go.

I have decided to sell my M42 motor and GM Trans Done 110,000kms In good condition has had repair to sump otherwise all good was in 96 Ti Includes Motor, loom, ECU, EWS II Module and Chip from Key. Happy to strap on a pallet and drop off to freight depot but buyer to arrange shipping. Motor: $300 Matching GM Trans also Available if required : $50 if buying motor $150 if trans on it's own Also Have M40 Head available, No Damage, Would reccomend resurface before reusing $100 Some Ti Parts Available, Ask and i will see if i have it Parts in Christchurch, Pickup or buyer to arrange (Happy to drop at depot)

I need an engine loom and ecu for a 1992 E36 318i with M42 motor for auto car No Dreamers wanting huge $$$$ It's only an old hack that i put together out of left over bits so will strip if i can't get one at a reasonable cost Let me know what you have or if you can assist with info on getting a EWS II Syetem to work in a 92 car ECU and Loom must be PRE EWS, i already have loom and ecu for car with ews II

I had a 318i E36 with the same issue, Turned out to be a clogged fuel filter and a partially buggered fuel pump, Try replacing the fuel filter (Cheap and won't hurt) and see if it helps.

I am wrecking 3 BMWs at the moment 1994 E36 320i Sedan, Auto, Colour: Calypsorot Metallic, 180,000kms, Spotless interior, Cloth Seats, Black Carpet, Has Frontal Damage, all airbags ok. 1992 E36 318i Sedan, Auto, It's a lemon, Everything is a bit rough, has live plates, 300,000km+, M40 motor with blown head gasket. 1996 318Ti, Auto, M42 Motor, Colour: Hellrot (Bright red), 110,00kms, Frontal damage, Airbags deployed Prefer local buyers but happy to ship parts at buyers expense. Ask and see if i have what you need
