  1. a bit of a thread dig but i thought id just share my story.

i started smoking when i was around 15 years old. curiosity led to habit and bad influences kept it going and now over 10 years of it i think ive finally had enough.

Well done on you its not an easy thing to do. I am 3 1/2 years smoke free and was the best thing I have ever done (apart from having children and buying a bmw).

Myself and the missus did Champix and found it to be fantastic stuff.

Get yourself an app for your phone perhaps , we did and shows how we are going. Example below.

Drop back into this thread if you want to keep us updated and or vent or want some advice :D

  2. In 1976 I had about 5 driving lessons , paid $10 and undertook a one hour practical test to demonstrate basic competence. I was expected to perform some basic manoeuvres and be able to react quickly and stop - the guideline was within .75 seconds.

In 1981 I sat the written test , It was raining outside and the cop asked if I knew how to drive a car to which I said yes , He also asked if I wanted my motorcycle licence to which I also said yes.

I was given a piece of paper to take to the council building I think it was and issued with my Liftime paper licence.

  3. Yes, and no! I did get it from you but I took their headline claims on face value and didn't research their technical detail enough - it's not suitable for my MSS50 DME and they have no plans to support it. It looked like it was working but gave me bad codes. And to be fair you can't do much to an E36 anyway so it's a bit OTT for such an old car.

The fortunate bit is that I didn't use up a VIN slot because it couldn't read it from my car so it still has two left.

Now that I have INPA and DIS up and running I remembered I still had it - it's nice kit so somebody should benefit from it!

    - can't remember how much I paid for it lol, not sure how much to charge for it! shhh... ;)

Yeah cant remeber was about $1k I think so to onsell for about $50 - $80 would be a bargin ;)

They are a good kit and pretty powerful though.

  4. I had the complete opposite experience with them. Cracked windscreen , rung insurance and they said no worries they would take care of it.

S&S rung me and said bring car in and they will fit new screen I asked if it was genuine and they said no so I said no way I want genuine so they said no problems but I will have to wait until one comes in. Windscreen although has a crack was ok to use until replaced.

Took car in when new one arrived , they rung me back about 4 hours later in arvo and said sorry but the seal was not included with the screen and they need to get one in. They had already taken my one out so could not use car.

Their solution to this problem was to give me a code to use with a taxi company until new screen was fitted and ready which took 2 days. Did a lot of getting around in taxi's during that time.

Found them to be helpful and great service and they did a good job.

Maybe that was just because it was the branch here, they would all differ I would say.
