  1. Beeker My old car.......what have you done (Just kidding!!) Long story short, I bought it with 71000 km on it Nov 2002 and sold it last year after being pestered to sell it. I gave in, and 2 months later I see it for sale again, so not sure what happened there! But it was time for me to sell, though, for some reason while I loved driving it, I always seemed like I wanted to sell it. Can't have tried to hard I guess, given how long I owned it..... Was not my daily driver, (that was a pushbike!) and was mostly weekends, fun, second car, out of town type use. Had a few niggly issues over the years. The most major was keeping it from pumping fuel over board somewhere around the engine bay. Hence the fuel clips etc being changed. Aircon never worked, dash had to come out to repair something as it leaked badly. Don't suppose it matters now, but you do have the dash out! ABS light used to come on, but that will be a dodgy sensor somewhere. Fitted a new link from the bottom of the steering column to rack as the bush had flogged. New front discs were fitted 2-3 years ago, but probably did 10,000km or less. In the time I owned it, I always ran it on Motul fully synthetic - mostly 4100 Turbo Light 10w40 I think it was on recommendation from the importer. (I use lots of Motul in my motorcycles too). Plus were fitted by my brother in law (has a car workshop) and they cam direct from BM, so not sure what that was about ! I peeled 8 Goodyears F1's on it in the time I had it. The Mich Pilot 3's were toast when I got it. One left in the boot. My stated aim in life every time I drove it, was red line or sideways.... Never crashed in the time I had it.... My brother who lives o/seas drove it, scared me, him and promptly bought an E46! Use it, abuse it and have fun. Drop me a PM with any questions. Al
  2. True on the fun part of being a buyer, and have done the same but been prepared to pay something in the middle! but when it was the cheapest one on Trade me and I was asking around 19-20k mark, and the offerer wasn't interested in moving despite me biting the bullet and dropping a chunk off that, and no explanation as to why the low ball price (25% below the then asking price), I think most of us would have probably said no..... I've spent 12 years of my working life in the corporate sales, relationship management and contract negotiation space, I can usually find a middle ground.
  3. I know someone who would pretty much definitely keep it for $15k....
  4. I want to sell it, I don't need to sell it. That is, I'm realistic on price, but I don't need to risk doing that. If it doesn't sell at what is to be fair a bargain price given it's got less than 120k on it, I'll keep it if I have to. I've already turned down offers in the 15,5k mark.
  5. Still for sale. Rutheless price. $17k firm Ph 0274 574254. Sick of walking around the bloody thing still in the garage. Al
  6. Not happy folks - still onw the bloody thing. I have tried every f..king option, used some words I thought I would never have to utter (wriiten or verbal). I update photos etc., you name it I have done it and all I get is virtual tyre kickers. I still stand by my view that Trade me is the most useless place to sell cars, but that every other option is crap as well. have I accidentally clicked the the "don't buy now" button that only I can't see. All I want is a reasonable price for my car - and I have now dropped 6,000 dollars and screwed if I'm going lower cos 17k for a new in NZ '93 M3 in good condition with only 119k on it is a frikken bargain. Getting pissed off now. I love the car, love driving it on the odd times I do drive it. Only I don't really use it or need it and as a result essentially now resent it sitting in the garage doing nothing! As said, screwed if I'm dropping the price further and as for Turners etc - I might as well trade it in. I can't believe that someone won't even pay 17k when people will want more than that for some poxy Integra. Rant over....!!!! Thoughts people? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=240501505
  7. The number of guys who get barred up over my bike is stunning too. These are guys with good name brand bikes too....Like you I bought mine because it was different (and good). It's not another Avanti, Specialized, Pinarello, Scott CR1, etc etc....price was petty good too. It was a replacemnt for my last bike (speccy) which was bent like a banana across the front of a 4WD. Though in saying that lately the bloody things are everywhere up here! I spoke to a guy recently that has done 25,000km on his Mortirolo and says it's still GREAT. Is his training bike. Yep, Campag is where it is at. I went campact as well so I have 34/50 and 11-25 on the back. Came with 12-25, but the 50 meant that I'd lost a lot off the top end. But 34/25 was great for Whangapoua on K2....39/25 would have been a killer. But the Compact set up I've got now gives a great spread with some good steep hill climb stuff and a slightly taller top end. I see you have speedplays too? What do you think of them? I've been running them for 6 months and like them, but not sure if my feet do. I've just swapped tonight to Time Edge pedals on the advice of the podiatrist I've had to see because of foot pain and numbness when cycling....( plus new shoes I've also bought ) since I went to them. He's thinking the small pedal area may be causing a pressure point. Lots of guys I know use them no issue - but my feet as it turns out and really flexy!
  8. Cheers Dylan! Can I assume you went E30 M3? Coool! Yeah, I agree, even with the current climate, I think people expecting to steal a good m3 (as opposed to an average or crap one ) for the $15k mark is taking the piss a little especially when you see guys wanting more than that for some poxy Integra VTEC......maybe my loss in that I don't sell it (Or is that my gain!) because I'm not prepared to be give it away because I think it worth a little bit more. You still got the S3? Sure did look good too. Al
  9. Bastard - I wanted a black yellow Mortirolo when I ordered mine, but couldn't do it, no stock. Had to go with Black, grey red. But I did get carbon centaur and Campag wheels. Vento's only - but they are Bomb proof! I'd live a Wilier Izoard or Le Roi, I'd even be happy with it only having Chorus and be on Zonda's!
  10. that's the problem...I do 2-3 times as many k's each year on the pushie than I do in the M3!
  11. It's been on dratme since feb.....fixed price list, auction, fixed price offers....regular price reductions., the full noise trademe promotions (ie front page type stuff)....last auction 1200 plus vierws, 63 watchers.... Yep, buyers market, but it doesn't mean they can take the piss....! I politely told one guy recently I was selling it, not giving it away (given the offer I was made and previously very clearly explaining I wasn't selling it because I needed the money - rather after less than 10,000k in 3 years I'm just not using it. re Apex: I did the "You need key words to sell, try and make a sentence out of Turbo, waistgate, dumpy, screamer, Cifero, Skyline, Live at home with your mum, rotor, drift, d-style, HSV, V8, Mean, skids, bagged, gangster, EVO…." and Trade me told me off and edited my add!!!!!!!!!! sh*t, I the end I may just end up keeping it and spanking it senseless like it needs....
  12. Am I expecting to much to expect more than $15,050 for my car, or is Trademe just a crap place to try and sell a car fullstop? Your thoughts are appreciated! I'm just getting f'n sick and tired of trying to sell the bloody thing when I all I seem to get are tyre kickers lately. I'm neg, but I'll be arsed if I'll give it away!
  13. Folks My 1993 E36 M3 with only 118,000km on the clock, NZ new etc is up on Auction, closing Sunday night. My Trade Me Auction for 1993 New NZ M3 Was only at $15,000 tonight when I looked. Be in to win..... Not "perfect" but pretty good. I never use it so it needs to go - as in I'm sick of walking around it in the garage, feeling guilty for not using it! Al
  14. Cheers CamB - I kept searching and just found a pelican technical article which said 26.4mm as well. Mine are 31mm approx so all good....
  15. Hi Folks What's the minimum service limit on the E36 M3 (non evo) front discs? Just trying to guage how worn mine are and if they need replacing sooner or later/ hwat life they have left. Thanks in advance as I'm too lazy to take a wheel off to try and see! Al
  16. Well folks, after being slack for a while about doing anything the M3 is back on the market and she's got to go this time as I've dicked around for too long. I'm being ruthless on price - is currently $21500 on Trademe and dropping regularly. Love it, don't need to sell it, just don;t need it anymore as I'm still not using it. Goes in for a service on Tuesday too. Any enquiries please call me on oh two seven four five seven four two five four. Thanks Alistair
  17. As Posted elsewhere here. I've decided to sell my 1993 E36 M3 as I'm just not doing the miles or the driving now for what it was originally bought for (weekends away). I've owned for nearly the last 6 years and done 45k in that time - 6k in the last 3 years pretty well much! Not been my commuter (cycle or bus to work usually), good straight original car with the grand total of 116,000km on it. Usually serviced at Parnell Motors and I've run it on fully synthetic Motul oil. NZ new. All the usual M3 stuff, plus electric seats & sunroof. Alcantara Interior with the Motorsport fabric. Has Goodyear F1GSD3's fitted. Pioneer CD Player - still have the original tape deck to go with it. Always garaged. Was the best around when I bought it in Nov 2002 with 71,000km. Is in very good condition - not perfect, but lets face it - it's 15 years old! But is very straight down the sides with almost no door marks, etc from careful parking etc. What's interesting is that people expect M3's to be gas guzzlers. But they're not. I've seen 35mpg on the open road regularly - and up to 38 (range was showing about 800km for the tank)!! Even around town it runs about 27-28. Love the car to bits, but I walk around it daily in the garage and feel guilty for not using it more. I wouldn't have the same problem with some sh..box Corolla! I'm thinking $22k or thereabouts (more if you want to pay it!) Al
