I have the whine from two to third- four very little and fifth nothing.

Car had a service before trans was put in. It didn't make this noise before it was installed. its not a very loud whining noise. went for a drive before and noticed it makes the noise from around 18000rpm to about 2500rpm then its gone. does matter what gear its in. Sounds like a dogbox sound. (but much less noise) The guy who installed it said it the type of gearbox the e30 racing guys use a more heavy Judy box. Is it easy to turn the radio up and down. Or can a mechanic only do it.

I had a transmission changed over last month and never noiced this funny whining noise it makes as I have be listening to the radio so never heard it till now. As my revs get higher the whine gets louder? there something wrong? gearbox was looking at before going into car. was all fine. car is a 88 E30 320i I hope all is fine.

where to put 8" woofers in my e30?
JasonL replied to jcerecke's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Rockford and soundstream very nice brands. Great stuff by both. rockford new gear is not all that good now :C 8" will be sweet in the front but bit of a mission to put them in I was jst thinking 6.5" would b a better idea than cutting and desgining cut outs to make them fit. I was going to put 8" in my e30 too but the room behind the magnets wasnt enough for the bass to get too them lows and didnt sound all that nice but im more into the spl side of things. Also with the rear speakers look under tray I had 4 free holes. So I cut some of the tray out to let the pressure out thought them holes and recarpeted over top so its looks stock. was thinking of boxing the rear speakers but they sound much better due to the extra porting. About the 6x9 I jst c lots of people with 6x9 in da back. Hope that can help ya. -

Poroblem 1: is having 8inch speakers. Best set up you will find is to have 6.5inch in the front and 6.5inch in the rear. Problem having 6x9s in the back is that magnets are too big and there is no room for the bass to air late (or what ever its called). If your wanting good speakers go with the DLS MS6A they are great speakers look up reviews on nz ice. They are great speakers. Also your subs should be doing the lows for you. whats the other gear you are running. ie amps subs. -
What do people make of these kits. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E30-M3-...bayphotohosting

Oh Hey no problem. If ya even want an upgrade. they would be a great one. Like how ya made a custom cut for the boot latch ;D

Contact StreetSoundz In welly. Ask about there soundstream boxes. They are made for spl. They are great boxes 10,12,15" boxes also dual if needed. They are a slot ported. makes a massive difference from cheap repco box. Also what sort of sub will you be putting into it. But would reccomend making own box. As can change specs easly. P.S. Thicker the mdf the better. But more weight. http://www.ryda.com.au/Soundstream-SS-12L-...Box-p/ss12l.htm
