  1. I bet he was indeed surprised with your power! He was talking about putting 2 turbos on his 1UZ next year. He reckoned he had 230hp at the wheels on the dyno currently.

I myself will be aiming for about 260hp at the wheels. Maybe 300 with some camber correction...

Yours will be a weapon, handling and power, mine is currently 331hp at the wheels after the final tune, pretty happy. i think me and Atta are heading out to the track (weather permitting ) Tue afternoon if your keen?

  2. There was a Series 1 RX7 racecar with a 1UZ in it that I was battling later in the day. Running a link/stripped out/cage etc:

Dead even with it down the straight in my car. Bring on 1 bar of boost, gonna be keeping up with Jason down the straight :D Possibly anyway haha!

I had a wee play with him when I was out there last, he was suprised how well my car went and what was under the bonnet, maybee a little more boost Henry? , still gonna leave me for dust in the corners!

  3. Rake'n'Bake B)

Seriously though, those photos don't even do it justice.. very very amazing in the flesh!

Manage to get an vids from Sunday Jason or were you too busy with the quake sh*t?

Quake took over, the track was closed! So no video yet.

Thanks for your comments guys, after a lot of thought, time, and being a constant hole in my wallet this means alot.

Im happy with how its come up, and with pretty much 250 rwkw on tap after a retune im stoked

  4. Wow what a shake, the aftershocks of 5.4 the other night was just like experiencing another quake! Had my car booked in for monday, thought I would carry on and take my mind off things.

Just had another dyno done, a bit more fine tuning, and a 10 rwkw increases to 246.8,(331 rwhp) at a 22 degrees c, last one was at 16 degrees c, dont know if this makes any difference but very happy with the result.

  6. I have just bought a new camera mount, should be able to shoot some decent track video at the dual sprints and multi car sprints on Sunday.

Anyone welcome to come out for a look, Dual sprint racing starts about 10 30am, Multi car about 1pm. 6 cars all mingling together, not sure about this one, dont want any panel damage ,see how I go for position in the dual sprints.

  7. Great afternoon guys. Really enjoyed it and was good to put faces to names.

Mark - good to finally meet you. Keep up the wicked work for the mod team.

Gaz - Cheers for making the karting booking

Atta - thanks for the ride in the v8. Just confirms what I already knew - that it is definitely the next project.

    Matt - I freek'n' love the tidy e28.

Jason - Your super-tidy, super awesome s/c'd lexus v8 has made me reconsider the e36. My favourite non-bmw engine swap for sure.

Henry, Sammy, Kirill. Cheers for stoppig in too.

Great hospitality from the Canterbury crew.

thanks for the praise, its really appreciated. The car park was probably not the best place for a rev, I couldn't help myself! Loved the story about the paddock racing, I would love to do that one day.

Great to meet you and catch up with the boys.

    Jas.

  8. The TT 1uz I built made 350rwkw on 9psi on stock intenals, was an early middle sump crown motor.Garrett GT30/40s. I steered the owner away from supercharging as it didn't seem worth the effort. Your install is nice and tidy, I wouldn't be too concerned with max HP.Well done

Cheers, I agree. It is a whole lot of fun and thats all that matters to me for a daily driver.

  9. sorry got that wrong the owner said it was 12psi it made that power, cant give the turbo specs as thats up to the customer to tell but i will say its not that big well not in my books

Thanks for your input guys, looks like turbo adds alot of power and changing my pully to increase boost is certainly one way I can achieve this. I know a guy in Auz that has the same supercharger and forged internals and big cam and is getting 304rwkw, desirable but a whole lot more expensive, I will have to wait a while longer for that.

Alll I know it has got great torque right through the rev range and instantaneous tyre frying power, while driving, no clutch required.

  10. just out of interest but why is the kw so low?

I didn't know it was, my dyno tuner seemed to think that an 80 rwkw increase would be about right for the supercharger upgrade, it was initially 159 rwkw, There is one in a hilux running standard internals and 14psi and getting 270rwkws, mine is 9.8psi

    Any thoughts?

  11. Awesome car mate, always been one of my favorites on here. So stealth

Cheers, since the bonnet modification I am not sure whether to restripe it or de stripe the whole car, I dont want to take away from my new"power buldge" but still like the stelth look.

    What do you guys think?

  12. Some friends were at Ruapuna and were telling me about a V8 supercharged E36.

    Looks awesome with the supercharger.

Cheers, probably not what they expected from a BMW. It was an awesome day, very happy with the way it went.

  13. That's pretty awesome.

Bonnet bulge is totally acceptable when it's for accommodating moar powerrrrrrrrrrsssssss!!!!! :D

Cheers man, I tried to make it as subtle as possible, all good having more power but if you make your car ugly doing it its not worth it.

  14. Hot damn that supercharger is insane!!! Can't imagine how well that hauls now..

Ooo sam has a couple of new toys, we might have to bring them down to your work one day soon :D

Yea its twice the car it was before, still no where as fast as you around corners, love to see sam's new toys, anytime but sundays.
