$1500 was for 4 rotors and 4 sets of pads.
-
Thanks for your help. I just had a quick look around the web and it seems that only the Evo's had the floating rotors - see link: http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=15 I called a dealer the other day to enquire about rotors and pads. They quoted me $1500.00 for new front and rear M3 rotors and pads. Does that sound reasonable? Does anyone know what the Brembo equivalent would cost?

Floating rotors? Please explain.

Anyone know much about e36 M3 brakes? I have been told that the my rotors will need replacing soon. Should I stick with OEM rotors or are Brembo a better option? Cheers for your advice.

My old man has a 97 740i which has blown a fuse 3 times resulting in the same problem each time. When the fuse blows the back doors, windows and boot do not work. The problem is obviously fixed by replacing the fuse, but is there an underlying issue causing this to happen which is not fuse related?

My glove box is a bit droopy as you can see in the attached image. Does anyone know why this happens and how it can be fixed? Cheers

I used a company called automove (automove.co.nz) when I traded my altezza for the M3. I shipped the altezza up from Welly one morning and the M3 was delivered the next morning. Pretty quick I thought. Cost me just over $500 from memory. That was for both ways, so you are probably looking at half that for a one way trip.

I think I would of rather had a single CD in the head unit. With that in mind, I have been thinking about replacing my head unit, although not for a flashy new one. Maybe a newer bmw one with a single cd. Anyone know where I could find one of these?
-
Yeah it makes the normal eject sound, it just doesn't come out. Prior to this eject issue, everynow and then I had to push the "reset" button on the head unit when I wanted to play a cd. On the odd occasion I had to reset it a few times for it to connect to the stacker.

Hi I have the standard BMW OEM stereo im my m3, with a sony stacker in the boot. At present the stacker will not eject the cd magazine. Does anyone know how I can manually get it out?
-
My opinion if I may? Evos and the like are quick cars, but everytime I see one I can't look at it and appreciate it. It is not original, it has no class, it looks cheap. Plus they need turbos to have any kind of decent power. I used to own an altezza, not the same hp league as an evo I know, but there is no way I would ever buy another japanese car again.

I had my car in at BMW yesterday, turns out it was just a couple of clips that needed replacing on the hoses. Thanks for all your help. Mike

I took the car in for a warrant and thats what I was told. MAF sensor? (please excuse my ignorance) where is that? Cheers for your help

I have a minor leak from a hose, although I have no idea where the power steering pump and hoses are. Can someone please tell me? Cheers

Cheers Gus, I have to take my car into Shelly's on monday (PS leak) so I will pick some up then.

I have a pair of E30 headrests for sale on trademe. They are from an 87 325i. Both in top condition. link

Yip, they are pretty hot. With regard to spare keys and getting new ones cut, does anyone know what the story is with my car? Do I have to get them from BMW?

Here are some more images for those who are interested

Yip thats my misses I see, the M3 wasn't too bad either.Thats daring, luckily the wife can't reach the pedal's in mine (fixed seat). I think there is another one (same colour) in town with the ivory interior. Servicing, DIY, best way to become intimate with your stead, otherwise Page European have a good reputation, BMW (Shelley's) seem like a pack of monkies from my brief dealings with them (and other family/friends). Enjoy your stay at bimmersport, just watch out for ///Carl, he's dodgy. I see you're not a newb, just a silent non-poster, dodgy. Only a slient non-poster as I used to own a e30 325i convertible, then bought an Altezza.....I have only just got the M3. I have not seen the one with ivory interior, although I have seen an Estoril blue with back interior. I looked at buying a Daytona violet M3 with ivory interior that was on TradeMe a while back, although I didn't want an import. When I need a service next I will look Page European up, cheers for that. I have been in Shelly's once to have a look at an M5, although never had a car serviced there. When I was in Hawkes Bay I used Jeff Gray, they were good, a bit on the expensive side though.
