Unfortunately, you can get lemons from any car manufacturer, but Holden seem to have there fair share I must admit I like the Ve range but I wouldnt get another Holden. I owned a V8 a few years ago but now have moved on to better things lol. I am not brand affiliated to one particular brand as in the last few years I have owned a couple of Subarus,a Honda accord, a Nissan sentra etc etc, now i presently have a 2005 Nissan Maxima, the M3 and a e36 325i. Service from dealers is important to me and I must say that City Nissan in Lower Hutt are good, and Jeff Gray in town looked after me quite well. Good luck with getting your Holden issues dealt with.

What a cool looking car,I also now have a NZ new E36 325i manual coupe in black with the racing dynamics kit. Not as tidy as yours though! And white looks the business!

Next Car: Looking for E46 320CI/325CI (facelift&white) or E46 330C
E46-RAT replied to fatjoez's topic in General Discussion
A 330 would satisfy your show off tendency's i think, they are nice looking cars. Put a set of wheels on it then you would be sorted for a lot less money then a M3. With an M3 its not about weather you can afford the car,it is whether you can afford to keep it in tip top shape. For example to replace the front disks and pads with oem examples you are looking at $2000. If the engine goes, unlikely, but if it does, and you don't have a warranty you will have to sell some of your organs to pay the repair bill lol. And the list goes on. Depends what you want out of your car,in my case i just didn't want to compromise in any area so i got an M3 and have loved every second of it. I dont use it as a daily driver though, only on weekends so im lucky to clock up more then 3000km a year. -
Wow some of these stories are pretty bad. What is wrong with these dealers,do they want repeat business or not? I have taken most of my cars over the years to City Nissan in Lower Hutt and the service i receive from them is second to none. No matter which car i take in there they make me feel like an important customer. I recommend them to my friends, and in one case a friend with a Holden Commodore SS went to them after he had no luck with Williams and Adams in town. He had a problem that Williams and Adams couldnt fix with three visits! City Nissan solved his issue in 10 mins flat. Turned out a spark plug lead had burned through and his car was misfiring.problem found and solved. So it does annoy me when i hear these stories of people being disregarded just because they dont drive a newer flasher car or whatever. Word of mouth and creating brand loyalty are so important especially nowdays in these tough times. The snobbery factor needs to go,and fast! I did the age old dealership experiment the other day. I went into a prestige dealership driving my WRX and surprise surprise no one approached me at all even though i was there for around 10 mins. Next time i headed back in my M3 and boom!, i had salesman zooming at me from all directions lol! They need to stop making assumptions and look after everyone!

X5 Gone - out with the old & in with the new
E46-RAT replied to deeveus's topic in General Discussion
Best of luck with your new car,the S4's are very nice, haven't driven one but im sure they go alright. At one stage i was looking to get the RS4 V8,but even though i can afford one, i decided i dont really want to drive round in a hundred grand car when my M3 provides all the thrills i need for less then half the price. -
Now im worried about taking my M3 in to them for servicing! My car is in pretty immaculate condition and i think i would be up on a murder charge if any mechanic damaged it! lol!
-
*sigh* Where does one even start with this crap. Just when you think it cant get any worse with those boyracers in 'Crimechurch',this happens! I think from now on in,if you are crazy enough to drive round with some of these nincompoops, then expect to be treated like a criminal, even if you are doing nothing wrong yourself. If you have a modified car ,but dont hang round at midnight with braindead bozo's then you should be ok. Most police are reasonably fair minded, but the patience is wearing thin and i cant blame them really. Because i am in my thirties and a lot more responsible these days i am happy to say i get no grief from the police. But if i had access to the fast cars i own now when i was 18 god help the public, and i think i would be dead lol.

Hi there here is the link,http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-199594230.htm Come to think of it i think i have seen you on the watchlist a few times lol! Cheers, Rob.

Well I have never driven a M5,but it would be hard to top the drive i had in my M3 over the Rimutaka's at the weekend,it was incredible fun! It is times like that i wonder why on earth i am selling it! There is nothing funnier then driving at 5/10th's and someone in a regular car that is trying to stay in front of you having to drive at 9/10ths. I have owned a lot of performance cars but they dont come close to the overall package that the M3 represents.

Thats why if you like to drive fast then having a jammer is a good idea as well.I personally don't have a radar or a jammer set up in my cars as i don't really go too hard on the public roads these days, but i still creep over the limit on the odd occasion so i am considering getting a good radar detector. P.s Not that i consider 116kph to be fast

Thanks very much,nice E30!

Thanks very much, well hopefully soon you will have a few more photos to look at as my mate took some more over the weekend,he works long hours though so i dont know when i will get them uploaded to trade me lol.
-
Thanks mate,I bet your M is pretty nice as well!
-
Cheers mate,Best of luck with eventually owning one of these cars, you wont regret it,they are special cars thats for sure!
-
Thanks for the compliments.Well it is hard to say what i would get over in Aus because the car prices over there are through the roof! A similar car to my M3 over there would be around $80,000 Aussie dollars. I would like to stay in a BMW so maybe a E36 M3 or modify a more regular E46. Once beemers get under your skin its hard to give them up lol.

True, not that i was complaining, the sound was incredible when he put his foot down. On that sort of road the M3 held its own really well,of course on the motorway or Autobahn it would be a Gallardo whitewash, but for the money difference between the BMW and the Lambo i was happy with how the M3 performed.

Cheers mate,your E36 M3 looks great!
-
Thanks, and nice E30 you have there,I love those cars!

Hi there,The Subaru has very good top end power and when its on boost there is not very much in it,although i think the M3 is still quicker. Braking and cornering there is no comparision, the M3 is insane in both departments. I read some where on the net from a very reliable source that the M3 can brake from 80mph down to zero in a shorter distance then a lot of much more expensive cars like Porsches etc. The only issue is fade but i dont drive quick enough on the street to get that It feels like it has more power then 252 kw as well although i havent dynoed it. The Subaru still has a lot more potential in it though, the stock turbo is at its power making limits ,the intercooler needs to be bigger and the stock suspension needs to be upgraded to match the power. Take care of those things and it would be a really fast street car. As i have mentioned in another thread i followed a Gallardo over the rimutaka hill the other day and while the lambo was quicker, the performance gap wasnt as big as i was expecting, and yes he was trying lol. Cheers, Rob.

Hmm E46 M3 for me but i love the E30's. And im a big fan of the E36 series cars. The newer cars are nice, but i think BMW is moving in the wrong direction, too heavy and too many gadgets. I know they could never go back to making a car like the E30 because of safety and other issues but i hope i never see the day that an M3 comes out with a 2 ton curb weight! I am eventually going to go back to a E36 car as i had more fun in a cheaper car to be honest and the E36 is beautifully balanced and the weight of the car felt about right. Less power but power isnt everything.
