    dashboard

Dashboard Restorations in Glenfield are wicked as. They do really good work but the problem is that it can cost a bit. A friend had his dash done by these guys and it honestly looked better than new. They also do Custom dashs for extra gauges and tv screens. If you love your car money is not an issue unless you have none.

    Basketweaves

Dammm What sort of punk pays that much for 15s? I spoke to the seller on the phone the other day. He only expected $450 which was the reserve. But 3g!!!!!!!!! That stupid. Good on the seller. I will let you know if he actually gets the cash for them. Man and I really wanted those wheels too. Those would have been awesome on my car. Pitty they have crappy snow tires on them. Good for drifting but dont last too long feel really soggy.

    Mags

Hi guys I want good looking cheap mags to fit an e30 that dont look gay. I dont like most of the new style mags as all you can get are super large with rubberband tyres. Stupid. Im more into the practical options. 15s or 16s. I like oldschool but not Tridents. I really like these ones. I like to keep things looking BMW not so much BLING BLING homeboy styles. So if you guys have suggestions (photos are good) thats great. Thanks
  4. I rang BNT for a spigot bearing but they dont have listing for a E30 318i spigot bearing. I guess that I will need to call BMW and get the part number or does someone know what that is or what equivlant bearing would fit?

    VOLTRON

Transformers was wicked. Those were the days. I think the new transformers is gay compared to the old ones. The old ones were way more violent. Voltron... wicked robot action. awesome.
  6. The one Im taking out is a 4.45 but think that its got a problem as it sounds like a very distant concrete cutter (hiss). My problem at the moment is finding somewhere to get a Spigot bearing as Repco dont sell them..? I will give Saeco a call on monday to see if they do them. Anyone know where I can get one?
  7. So What your saying is the diff I have will give good accelleration or good top speed?
  8. Im no mechanic but what is the prefered ratio? the diff I got says 4:10 Is that arse?
  9. Thnx heaps for the photos... Doesnt look too hard. how can you tell what the ratios are on a Diff?
  10. Yeah I probably will replace them with Philips.
  11. Someone who had owned the car before me had screwed up the alignment of the sunroof and munted the screws real good. I think it was because of the Torx screws. I havent been able to find a decent driver for these and the guy who put them in last totaly stripped the heads so I had to take them out with Vice Grips. Can I get these screws somewhere? and where can I find a decent driver? Thanks
  12. Auckland would have been cool no matter what the track was like but I always loved the Wellington one as it was such an interesting track. This use to rank as high for me as the Bathurst 1000 (pre Aussie V8 monsters) when the racing was interesting. Its a great excuse to go away.... I wonder how I can convince my wife that it would be good idea?
  13. ///Carl could you post the photos? That would be really helpful. Im figuring that the Pedal box is probably going to be the hardest part. Would I be right?
  14. The kit is out of a 91 E30 318i, so it has the new shifter setup (solid alloy rather than the what looked like pressed metal in the earlier ones). This kit was put into another BMW for a week which had built up but went to get a warrent and the car failed on some pillar damage so the car was broken down for parts. I also got a diff with the kit which I think has better ratios (still to confirm) than the one that came with the Auto. I really wanted a LSD but they are soooooooo hard to come by. As far as i can tell all mounts etc are good.
  15. Hi, Has anyone here done a manuel conversion on a e30 318i or any e30? Im just looking for pointers on what to look out for, what not to do, and any tricks. Ive got all the parts, (box, drive shaft, clutch, pedelbox, flywheel etc) Thanks
  16. Hmmmmm.. I think I like this one better... http://www.s14.de/0111/0111.htm
  17. So I Just bought a 89 318i, Black in mint condition, came with a manuel conversion kit (still to go in), lowered on Legal springs and what we think are M struts (still to check markings) All good, that is for about 2 weeks. Im on the motorway on the way to work cueing up to get off the motorway when a punk in a Toyota Celica comes over the hill behind me doing mach one in the rain. :drugs: Im the unlucky guy at the back of the cue totally stopped. Its funny how much you do in that final second before the crash. I saw the lane to the right was clear and started to pull away, unfortunately wheel spinning in the rain but fortunately enough speed to get the car moving forward which made the impact not so bad. First words out of my mouth when I got out of the car... "What the hell were you thinking!! You were going way too fast for the conditions.." He said.. "No, not too fast, road too wet".. Then it all hits. He has no insurance. Now two months down the track. My insurance company will not pay out until he has signed a liability form (as no witnesses because no one wanted to stop as it was raining, and as usual when you want cop they arent around). He has the forms and I ring him every week. Tonight I rang and I get a "This number is not permited to recieve calls". I ring Vodafone to find out what it means and they said its usually when someone is out of credit and has left the country. (Asian student gone home after Uni had finished.) So now when I hear that someone has no insurance I get so angry. They reacon that like 1 in 5 cars in auckland is not insured. Moral of the story... Get insurance. IF you can afford it get full cover. If you are hit by an unisured driver get the cops to come. Always have a charged cellphone (mine went flat at the scene so couldnt dial *555). Some insurance companies (like mine FinTel) will pay out on 3rd party when you are hit by uninsured drivers, but the people who hit you need to admit liability before it pays out. Luckily the damage isnt too bad and I have a good parts guy that I go to, but still has about 1000 bucks damage according to Panel Shops. Im probably going to be the guy that pays for this at the end of the day. Panel Shops said I was lucky to be driving a BMW as I would not have had anything worth calling a car if it had been a Jappa. Long story but I had to vent and I only just found the Bimmer forum tonight and I didnt want to post a BMW post on Toyspeed. Later.
