    Conversion wise, I have a M50B25 and its f**king awrsme! I am very interested in the M20B27 with the good head, that seems to be the best value for money/easiest of any bmw conversion.

    I agree on the final point thou, if your not willing to DIY then MS isn't really an option. (Unless you have a friend who is an automotive electrician) No matter what ECU you purchase they are all setup with the same inputs and outputs. People just like to stick with what they know.


  3. If you like spending money, go Link.

    If you want to learn tuning theory and have a bit of a challenge get a MS.

    I never felt 100% comfortable that someone managed to get one going, reliabily and for a long time on a megasquirt.

    What?? Both the Link and MS use the same techniques to deliver air,fuel and spark to your engine. Both have data logging and their feature set is almost identical.

    One of the major advantages of the MS, is if you want to upgrade components. ie boost control up to 50psi you just remove a component off the board and purchase the upgraded component.

    In Link world, you have to purchase a new more expensive ecu. This is called feature lock-in

    NB: NZEFI is a Link shop, they will tell you to go Link regardless..

    BMW - $1000+ (just for the stock plate)

    Repco - $800 (stock replacement)

    Ive decided to start importing BMW gear into NZ. I will only have a small amount of stock on hand as this is not my business per se but I plan on doing this for a while.

    Is there any problems associated with slapping the highflow head onto the 2.7 block?


  6. I have assurances that they are all made of the highest quality parts etc. These are not cheap Chinese made clutches.

    Torque is what kills clutches, if you don't get the right clutch for your application its going to slip.

    Im running the stage 3 ceramic in my M50E30, its abit of overkill really but it works a treat. I put it in just in case I decide to spend moar money going the forced induction route.

    Just reading that project thread, looks like he has a 6puck ceramic.
