  1. 1/2 Bonnet, plastic or composite construction with liner material, original badge. I was told this was a promotional item from BMW, it is 1:1 scale. Great piece of memorabilia for e36 fans, sadly I don’t have one any more. Free - pick up only Greenhithe, Auckland. Advertised on TM as well so best to just hit buy there. https://www.trademe.co.nz/antiques-collectables/automotive-transport/cars/auction-4564616958.htm
  2. https://www.trademe.co.nz/trade-me-motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/other/auction-3657494281.htm Last of my e36 bits and pieces, I would prefer to sell all together, details in the TM post. $180 for the lot for Bimmersport members, unless it sells on TM first.
  3. Ha ha yes - mate of mine just brought a 6.3 litre v12. He sent me a pic I just replied with 3.62 a litre…. But yep full tank of gas guaranteed! The best news is my new M3 doesn’t need gas but unfortunately it’s not a BMW!
  4. New Auction Everyone, the original listing closed with 308 watchers, almost 10,000 views and at least a dozen declined offers 35 or lower….. I’ll still let it go for 38 k to Bimmersport members which I think is pretty good value considering its condition and overseas values. If I can’t get that then I’ll be clearing out the other side of the garage when my new car arrives! https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3506300924.htm
  5. Bump - updated the TM auction. Car is running fantastic, in fact I think probably the best it has in my ownership! I’ll still let this go to Bimmersport members for 2k less than the TM auction so 40k. Also happy to consider reasonable offers.
  6. So after changing the, prop shaft gearbox pinion guide bearing, the guibo (flex disk) the centre support bearing and the rear CV seal the clunk is gone. Most of the parts that came out where in good condition, I think it was either a lack of the tacky gum stuff on top of the centre bearing or incorrect / No forward preload on the centre bearing. Anyway another m-clunk gone!
  7. Thanks M3AN - I must say I have read a few of your posts all over but mostly on m3cutters to get through a fair bit of this work particularly the rack / tie rod build.
  8. After four weeks installing all the parts plus another order from the states I’ve updated my auction so bumping this thread. I’ve upped the price to cover some of my parts and zero of my time…… Will still knock 2k off the listed price for Bimmersport members $42k. Added some parts pictures because well who doesn’t like shiny car parts right?
  9. I am normally super careful about this but it turns out the new coils I ordered from ECS are not correct for my car so selling these as a set. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bosch-parts/ignition-coil-priced-each/12131748018bkt/ Will fit multiple BMW and other models (Porsche maybe) please check first. All six for $450 dollars which is 50 bucks less that what it cost me (retail in NZ around 90 bucks each I think). Still in the box with seals except for the one in the picture. Will probably list on TM in a couple of days. Happy to ship at your cost (Bulky Box) or pickup West Auckland. Cheers
  10. Happy NY All! A little bit of interest but the M3 is still for sale and I have updated the pictures and some details on the TM listing. 2K discount for Bimmersport Members only 38K (still firm). https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3382298426.htm

    WTB: E36 CCM

So I uninstalled HID headlights on my M3 and reinstalled OEM headlights. Along with this I reconnected the CCM wires that are for the headlights as had I previously modified it (bypassing CCM) because the HIDs give you a warning every time you turn them on. Long story short it turns out the HIDs actually also damage that part of the CCM so when reconnected with non HID lights I now get the warning. So I am after a replacement e36 CCM (18 button OBC) - it’s important that it has not been used in a car with HID headlights…. The backup plan is to bypass the CCM using the wires again.
  12. Hi Neal - That would check with the service history for that time, while Dakar Yellow is not everyone’s cup of tea I love it.
  13. NZ New Dakar Yellow - $40,000 firm. Full details in the TM auction but please feel free to ask any questions here or over there. Reluctant Sale - Viewing around West Auckland. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3382298426.htm
  14. Brought a new family SUV so the old 318i has to go. Full details in the listing but around 234,000 kms runs OK but has some oil leaking from around the sump looking for will do $1800 buy now for Bimmersport members. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1200357689
  15. Just an update the minor clunk is just a little bit of play in the drive shaft spline where it goes into the diff, nothing to be worried about. Otherwise it all seems pretty solid under there.
  16. Suspension and bushes all pretty much all been replaced 10 k ago so shoukd be fine. Pretty sure it's drive train related.
  17. Cool I am going to get the car up on stands in a couple of days to change all the oils so will give the whole drive train a good going over then. A lot of overseas forums talk about a normal drivetrain lash in these cars but I just want to be sure.
  18. Dakar Yellow, picture embedded above. I have checked most stuff, I'd be keen to have a drive in another as I have owned numerous e36s but this is my first M3. There is much conjecture on Internet forums about what is normal.
  19. Probably should start a new thread but I am interested to know what oil you guys are running in your transmissions and if you have what I think is "drivetrain lash" basically some clunking coming on and off power in lower gears.
  20. Mine is just coming up 195k still in mint condition. I am in auckland would be defn keen to catch up sometime have a look at some others and talk to some other owners.
  21. Just found this post. This car it is mine, brought it a few weeks ago. Few little things to sort out but otherwise very happy.
  22. No it is definitely an alarm. I found the siren when I had it on the hoist changing the fuel filter the other day. Apparently the internal batteries can go flat and the siren stops working. I plan to pull it out when I have some time and fix the level function on the light at the same time.
  23. OK so further to this. I have been searching the net looking for answers and have fault found the car. It seems it is definitely an alarm of some sort but I don't have a separate fob and I have not yet located the siren. But I have the hood microswitch. If I open the hood, and then hold the microswitch down Ie simulate it closed then lock the car it locks and then when I let the switch up Ie (simulate open) the lights start flashing and I can hear relays clicking over by the fuse box. I have read all sorts of things about possible flat batteries in the siren etc, either way I will be pulling the RH light out soon to see if I can find the dame siren. If anybody has any good gen let me know otherwise I will keep the forum posted. Why does it work with the key and do I need a separate fob?
  24. So I pulled out the sunglass console yesterday on my NZ New 1998 328I Motorsport and I disconnected a plug that was wired to a LED with a brown cover (beside the ASC switch). It has not worked since I owned the car which is only a few weeks. After I reconnect and lock the car now the led is flashing - good news maybe I have an alarm. It would be a 3G Mk 2 if I did. Funny thing is I get no noise or anything when I lock or unlock the car. I have the three button key remote. So I have done a search of most of the forums to see if I can figure it out. I am not near the car now so can't check for a siren but does anybody else have this led with the brown cover and if so - is it an alarm or just a light to say the car is locked?
  25. So I got sent the wrong stereo from the states and it seems the best option is to try and on sell and get my money back. I am not making a profit on this. Reserve is what it cost me including shipping in NZD. See the car audio forum if you want to know why I am selling. Cheers - Hoags http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=167232238
