  1. Hey there all.I am half way through replacing the rear cover to my intake manifold. The car began to bellow smoke at start up randomly,so i thought this would be a great place to start.

1.Does anyone know what the plastic pipe running through the inside of the intake manifold- connecting to a plate at the rear does??Mine is just floating around!I have searched and discovered that it should have an O-ring.

-I am hoping not to have to remove the throttle body etc.

-Do you need this, and could i just get rid of it???

2.The oil seperator pipe that runs to the back plate also(spring loaded) again was just pissing in the wind.It slides back in,but I donnot know the state of the O-ring and if it will seal etc.

Any help or info would be much appreciated.

  2. do the wiring at the amp end in the left side of the boot , unplug the amp and figure out which wires come from the deck and which go to each speaker , also remember to use crossovers etc so you dont blow up the mids and tweeters etc .

As per, your info is gold Brent.Cheers heaps man.

  3. Hi Adam

Wouldn't worry about the wheels. I have seen some 86's with those wheels too (if they are indeed the metrics). If they are in fact metrics, BMW found that they were causing some problems (leaking and some corrosion issues around the bolts).

Since they are comparatively rare, some prefer these original ones.

If you want to make good money- Continental Europe is the place to sell it.

Thanks again mate,am about to go and check that out now.Is that your 850/840 in the pic??There is very little online about m6s online,so i really value your input.

    Cheers

    Adam

  4. I just want to see some German (car) p0rn. I'm always keen to see pictures of BMWs and Porsches.

All good mate, cant upload here sorry. Havent got one of the m6 and the Porsche yet...have some neat ones of the 540i Schnitzer and the 911.Just got back from Stuttgart and the Porsche Museum which was the driver to pull away from Japanese vehicles all together lol.Pics of the 540 on trade me at the mo mate, and cheers

  5. This would have to be one of the best looking e39s in the country.I know that i am biased but truely has to be seen to be believed. The description is as follows:

BMW 540i individual AC SCHNITZER package

    -NZ new

    -190kms

    -BMW service history

    -All Schnitzer extras

-Lowered on Eibach springs(not too low)

-20x10/8.5" Bayern chrome mesh wheels, with Michelin pilot sport 255/35 tyres ($8k package)

    -Black angel eye headlights

    -Blaupunkt Aftemarket stereo

    -BMC custom intake

    -Black leather with wood kit

-35%tinted windows with blacked out window surrounds

    -All usual 2000 facelift extras.

This is a tastefully done and very well looked after BMW 540i(not your average). It would make an ideal promotional vehicle or the likes of,as it attracts a lot of attention. The Schnitzer individual has another 15kw over standard, and with the intake who knows??If serious punters would like photos,I can PM them as my settings wont allow me to post on here.

    Offers over $15k.

    Thanks

  6. By the way, I just noticed your car has the very early bolted metric wheels. They were later replaced around early 85 with a revised wheel without the bolts. As a matter of interest, what year of manufacture is this one?

    Regards

Thats a bit of a worry, considering this is an 86 model!Hmmm,no i have imported the vehicle privately. It appears to be in great shape, and fingers crossed it is all that when it arrives!!Thanks again for your advice regarding these vehicles. If i am going to get any sort of return on the vehicle,it looks like it will be going back offshore though :(.Ahh well, will enjoy it for a bit while it is here me thinks!

    Thanks again.

  7. Hey there Adam,

I hope I can help. I am a fan of the M-powered shark and having owned a tidy example, know them very well.

In this country, a left hand drive M6 seems to be worth what the buyer is willing to pay. A variety have arrived in NZ over the last 5-6 years, and in varying levels of condition.

A few were imported a few years ago through a guy called Tony Ramlose. His were from- Japan and were ex-Germany. Some were sold for as low as $15k. Most of these seem to be used as track -weapons.

One of the finest examples is the one in Christchurch - it is also from JApan and is ex Germany and is evidently number 3 out of all M6's ever manufactured, so is a 83.' This car has been marketed for over a year or so now, at what I perceive as a fair price -around the mid 20's and hasn't been sold.

The NZ new examples (around 20 or so) have been as sold as low as the 18k mark but in recent years have averaged around the $25-30k mark (with a mint, NZ new 90km example going for around $40k 18 months ago).

To be fair, there have been very few NZ-new examples marketed for a little while. They are rare, and rarely parted with.

In terms of this example you mention, the LHD examples tend to have a larger market overseas. However, in this country, they don't seem to have the same demand as the LHD muscle cars from the States! Even Ozzies seem to pay comparatively big money for a LHD M6.

Thankyou so much for this very informative info. This is a lot less than what I was hoping to hear, and a hell of a lot less then what they are fetching up in Europe.I will endeavour post a lot of pics when it arrives.

    Thanks again.

    Adam

  9. Hey there everyone.

It has been a while since ive been on these pages, but come with a very interesting topic.I have always been a drooling and gobsmacked fan of the iconic M6.Finally after many years I have option to buy probably one of the lowest Km examples in the world. It is LHD and has 88000miles on it.It is in above average condition(not concourse but fairly good).

What kind of money would this be worth???

I also have just brought a NZ new 00 540i individual AC schnitzer,arggggh.Awesome.Bavarian motors are just so great on so many levels. B).Anyway thanks in advance for any info and thoughts.

  10. I am after the front half section of an E36 coupe or sedan.

Must be in straight condition with the sub frame. Ideally cut just after the rear transmission mount along the floor and cut at the start of the a and b pilars.

Anyone out there with such a thing, how much would I be looking at?

Can pick up with a truck, in Auckland only.

Hey there mate,i may do.are you after the front panels also??

  11. Complete original M3 bodykit.

    Includes:

    -front bar(complete,with supports etc)

    -Rear bar(with diffuser)

    -Side skirts

    -wide M stripe kit

-Chrome kidney grilles(not M3 but will throw in)

Again these items are very hard to find original.

All parts are in excellent condition.

I am open to offers, but would prefer not to split these items.

    Thanks

  12. I have for sale a complete black leather interior kit,out of my E36 318IS sedan. It includes door cards, and of course front and rear seats.

Here is a rare opo to upgrade you worn standard trim with mint condition black leather-for the price of material retrim! I remember when i was looking at retrimming my 328i,i simply couldnt find leather. When i did the price of a pair of front seats was ridiculous,so i gave up on the idea.

I am asking $800 for the whole interior set.I would love to see it go to an enthusiast.

Also have M3 sedan bodykit and mint white retrimmed hoodlining.

  13. This mod with cams - i will second is madness.i have a 328 that had all this done in japan. It also had a supersprint exhaust, and a chip.Assuming this is where the grunt was,i removed them and fitted them to my coupe. The difference to the coupe was marginal with exhaust and computer, meanwhile the sedan with the standard exhaust and computer-seemed to go harder then ever!!The ONLY mods it appears to have is the M50 manifold, and some cams(dont know what). Is like a different car 320vs328 almost. Now the sedan is crashed lightly at the back,so is for sale. Can back up this story with a passenger seat ride for sceptics. It goes hard.thanks

  14. 1996,blue,lowered suspension,16"motorsport wheels(5),excellent condition M52TU,with trick cams and manifold.auto trans in good condition.interior worn in usual spots(hoodlining, doorskins sagging).Lovely kit on it.reg on hold.pictures are of car before it was pranged, and with the schnitzer wheels on it.Am open to all reasonable offers.Would make an excellent track car...has all these aftermarket suspension parts already, and an unusually fierce 2.8.Needs taillights, boot, bumper repair, and minor rear beating.May wreck, but will need to sell the engine first to recover some good money.Any serious enquiries, please dont hesitate to call.

sorry got half way through this and realised-it should be in the for sale section..lol
