  1. ha ha, I laughed my socks off at that... I was only kidding! My first serious car was a 1988 Golf GTI 16v (sorely missed, an absolute skyrocket), followed by Merc 190 (yuck!!), then finally my 318is. I think I'd rather shoot myself than drive a Holden... or infact anything other than a bimmer now.
  2. Wow, that all sounds way too complicated! That's a real shame. I had this idea that the import laws would be similar to Aus. The info I had for them was that cars over 15 years you didn't have to pay any GST or import duty on.. sounded almost too good to be true though, so was probably wrong! Thanks for the advice, I guess I'll be looking out for the prices of Holdens now....
  3. I've got an average 1990 E30 318is with 130k miles on it, but still great fun to drive. I reckon I could only get £1000 for it if I sold it here in the UK. What do people think about bringing it with me when I move to NZ next year? It's going to cost me about £1200 to get it to Auckland apparently - so I'd have to be looking at selling it for around $6000 or so if I wanted to get my money back on it, I haven't seen any for sale on websites in NZ. Does that mean they don't exist? If I keep it for a while would I have trouble getting parts etc? Appreciate your comments. Rich
