I don't think using Pod in a non-Turbo 2 litre engine will have a lot of gain in there as there is no need for huge air-flow. No doubt it look kinda cool in your engine bay. But if that wasn't done probably with the cold air tube/heat shield, etc.... You might be worse off having them. (performance-wise) I had my K&N panel and quite happy about it. If you follow the pumbling a bit from the air-box, it is actually linked up to the left kidney grill to get cold air in from the front anyway. That itself is kinda a cold air intake. (correct me if I am wrong)

I think which tyre is good depends on your priorities. I don't drive *REALLY* fast, track day once a year, mostly town with some motorway driving (Auckland). I don't really need something *THAT* grippy. If I was to pick, I probably pick Bridgestone Grid-III or ER030 (this is a OEM tyre). Have Grid-III on both my Civic and Accord, fantastic handling, very quiet and wear really well. As soon as the silly Bridgestone worn out on my imported bimmer, I will change that soon asss... as the Japan local tyre is so noisy and driving me NUTS I heard some bad stories about Michilin too, they squeal a lot, lost grip mid corner (in dry), they worn out rather fast, etc... I personally stayed away from the brand.

Did you spill anything in the centre console lately?? Check the brightness adjuster, fuse and bulbs. Does the needles work as normal?? If everything doesn't work, maybe a dead instructment cluster.

I can't understand why BMW make people have the headlamp washer when they have HID. It's not like they clean very well and they spray everywhere. Then you need to spray clean the windscreen after you clean the headlamp. Then you need to clean all the windows when you get home....... pain in the back side

e36 don't have a factory HID option. But the later ones that have a projector style lens should be ok for HID right? Since they look to be non-dispersing the light everywhere and instead forming a beam......... I think I might end up getting a gas-charged bulb like the late model Subarus (like the B4 RSKs) to get the look of one without the hassles.

I heard that M50 header has a better airflow characteristics than M52. But M52 has a better stock "out of the box". And we can increase performance by fitting M50 header into M52. Can anyone shine some light onto this one? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the link..... So, a factory fitted ones are fine. That means there's no chance for e36 then.... They say "complete replacement headlamp units", how about one of those pre-installed headlamp housing with HID and self-levelling that we can get from overseas?? What happen if you already have one fitted after-market, does that mean you are gonna fail WOF next time round?

Anyone got one of those installed? Can you share you experience? 5-series / 7-series owners welcome to share their opinion as well (especially if you have the factory ones..... Note: Not the blue tinted bulb we are talking here. We are talking about the real deal, either gas-filled filament bulbs or discharge bulbs that need a ballast.

is it possible?? I heard of auto -> manual conversion with Civics and Skylines. But with e36??? Would that be easier to buy a manual one??

my 1998 e36 323i auto 8.2km/litre = 19.29 mpg running on 96 fuel the figure seems a bit low (use lots of fuel), comments? note: I don't drive "THAT" hard. Full rev couple of times per tank only and keep below 3000 other times.

according to the owners' manual, 16" have offset of 45-46mm and 15" have offset of 47. Hope that helps...
