  1. I've read conflicting things about this. A lot of people say to not flush it but rather just change the oil and filter. I considered doing it myself but it may have found a guy who can do it for me with a hoist etc, making it a bit less painful.. Any recommendations on where's best to get the fluid?
  2. Yeah I am out of options to be honest. If changing the fluid and filter doesn't fix it then selling it is going to be a pain. It runs so well but the gearbox shifts are far from smooth. Just wondering if anyone o here is done it and has any pointers. Or has had it done at a shop. What was the cost?
  3. Any e38 owners changed the atf fluid? I have a 740i with only 167k on the clock. Engine seems sweet but tyranny shifts hard in some gears.
  4. Hey guys. Just picked up a 1996 e38 740i with 166k on the clock. The transmission seems to be a little rough (thud) on shifting up. Does anyone have any suggestions? Cheers
  5. As above. After lowest possible without being illegal. SUSPENSION isn't answering email or PM Thanks
  6. Death trap? Hmmm I wouldn't go that far Anyway I am looking to make it legit. One way or another. Thanks for your help. Shall send Keith a PM
  7. Ok, cheers people. Only problem is I think it will look funny if it is higher than what it currently is. Is it best to put new lowering springs on the fronnt shortened shocks or standard ones?
  8. Ok Long story short. Bought a 98 6cyl 4 door 320i. Looked great, drove great. Went for WOF - NO its too low. Discover shocks are shortened so put in original shocks with just some lowering springs that have been used on a 318 and got wofs no worries. Drop it down and HELLO now my car is the same god damn height but has spongy suspension now (6cylinder heavy tank compared to 318 I pressume). Basically I wanna know if I put the other shortened ones in that are a lot stiffer and probably better ride will this pass a cert. Also very important is the price of this cert. Was quoted $500 by a place in hamilton but a bit steep for me. I'm sure I've heard of cheaper places? Any help appreciated Cheers
  9. Hey guys bought a 98 320i a while back and was told it was sweet to get a warrant without any probs. Turns out its too low so am after some second hand front struts and springs (standard items) to swap in for a WOF. cheers
