Test drove a C36 AMG two weeks back, it didn't even pull as hard as any of the e34 or e39 540i beemers I've had and its manual said it only had 191kw(?) when I was thinking its 206kw. To cut a long story short got a c43 AMG same day which has way more features and pulled much harder. seriously I was offered the c36 for $12,000 and didn't even consider it- when you can get a 540i for $6000 why would you???

Ok never happened, sold the sti for cash and drove my new c43 amg back from auckland two weeks back, thamks for the advice- it prob would have been a bad idea to get an E55- the c43 is really good on gas for a v8 and I don't think an e55 would handle as well either- they come with the same brakes too.

Im talking with a seller about swapping my Sti coupe and some cash for a 1998 E55 AMG, but I've never driven one and any info would help. The good and the Bad.

hmmm.. yeah could be worth a look when I get my holiday leave paid out in a two weeks time;) I've had 540i in both e34 and e39 shape before and liked the e34 handling a bit better (less weight?)
