will bolt up , will sit on a different angle though , bottom small 3 bolts holes don't line up.
clutches , flywheels , etc will interchange , just make sure your starter matches the flywheel , and the clutch is stong enough for the engine etc
260 is longer than a 240 etc , so driveshaft will need to be different to suit etc
sweet cheers! iv got driveshafts and everything, this was all outa my parts car
-
does anyone know if a getrag 260 off an M20 will just bolt straight onto a M40? and if so, are the splines on the clutch plate the same?
-
no loom also means no cluster as well
-
*photo aint uploading atm*

I use dirty south to get rid of sh*t, like wheels/tyres/car parts... just say some silly cheap price and some clown will come collect your unwanted goods.
depends on what it is... FYI a stripped car body for FREE is in the "too hard" column for them...

I would buy a car off TradeMe rather than those Facebook "buy sell trade" pages. 95% of those listings go like this "goez grate but n0 wof reg. *enter silly amount of money here* n0 st*pid offerz may b keen 0n tradez but KASH IZ KING!! "
that is exactly the sorta page dirty south is, except trades are sooo much more common than wanting cash(that iv seen) but its where i swapped the crashed 318i for the 323i XP its possible to get great deals on them
Hahahaha yea that sounds like most winners on dirty south car club. My fav is "goes hard, never thrashed"
aka, thrashed to with-in an inch of its life, my brother took my old subi down to get a trade for a car, up til THAT point it hadnt been thrashed. at least on the plus side it didnt die before the trade was done
-
who buys cars off trademe?? sure its [probably]safer for missing out on real lemons, but its free to use forums or facebook and rather than ALWAYS buying, people seem more keen to trade, plus the cars seem to be cheaper!
-
well guys, ended up getting it! got a few rust spots, and sunroof dont work, but other than that pretty good!
-
Ohwell let me know if you want his number or take some pics and send them through or go down and show him
atm (with the excess looming over me) im hoping i can just get it looking okay, i have wof for 5 months still (luckily) then worry bout it at a later date, or even end up going through with this trade, the guy already knows i crashed it, but i would like his number to get mah OTHER car fixed thanks
-
Ahh right. That sucks dude. If you need a panel beater I've got a mate who works for himself in behind the old Roslyn mill that does great work.
well, iv looked at it now, front of the car is bent a bit( RH "chassis rail" outwards a bit), other than that, rest is panels, so i may need to get some welding done, for a new front clip to be welded in.
-
How bad?
with a bit of...creative (winch and tractor),,, panel beating, i should be able to at least pull the slam panel and front clip back right, then simply have to replace parts from my spares that i have
-
That was silly. Was awefully wet this morning. Got pics?
i think there might be one in the ODT tomorrow, uploading images aint working atm, guy still seems keen to trade if i can get it fixed, pretty much all mah spare front end parts tho,
guard/grills/lights/bumper/bonnet, and need to make the old girl come back to life
-
iv now got a slight issue, i kinda crashed my e30 this morning.
-
anyone know any major issues to watch out for in early 323i? i know cambelt/waterpump /head gasket and stuff on the m20,
but mainly how was the rust prevention on the early ones from factory? that there is my major concern bout this car.
im looking at whats apparently an 83 323i msport coupe, no wof/reg, and trading my 86 318iauto coupe (wof/reg)any opinions from people on here?
-
I'm getting screwed then!!
ya aint the only one! mine at 250/yr for just basic 3rd party....
then again... being 21 and a low car makes most insurance companies run right?
-
holy sh*t mate, is the coupe now 20% cooler?
haha! i wish, it aint even legal yet! not to mention the lack of manual box atm!
-
True that^^^ re the gold............hmmm Lawrence vs Tapanui, which would 'lose' worst, haha!! Don't drink the water, don't blink or you'll miss both places..........
Road from Tapanui across the top to Ettrick would be a great drive in the M3 Justin........
I can see you & Tyler becoming great mates on the pi$$ sometime...........
that would probably happen
