Condition? Do you have an example of what it looks like? No doubt it'll look better than the shitty supercheapauto one I have now.. Im on the North Shore.
-
$85 usd excl shipping? Surely someone would have one lying around or even just standard gear knob?
-
I ended up going with AA with an agreed value of $5800 and excess of $500. $1850 for accessories (to cover wheels and tyres should they go missing) and I opted for Third Party, Fire & Theft and it costs $17 per fortnight. Works out at about $450 a year. Full comp was $880 per year with agreed value.

Not really after an illuminated one and they're pretty expensive on ebay! Not looking to spend too much.

After something along these lines. 5 speed to suit an E30 (though I think they're universal). Anyone got a spare or even just a non m spec 5 speed knob in good/perfect condition.
-
Thanks, yeah I'm looking into other options. Its expensive though and I don't want to break the bank. Might look at shortening shocks and compressing springs before going down the coilovers street.

Hey Nathan

Hi all, been registered for a few weeks but I haven't introduced myself or my car yet. My name is Sean Curran, I'm 22 from Auckland. I'm a Web Designer at Zeald. This is my NZ New 1989 BMW 316i E30. It has done 65,000kms original and its condition reflects that.
Since buying it 2 weeks ago from a collector (who previously bought from an elderly lady whom has had it all its life), it's had a bit of pampering down at Platinum Wheels, North Shore.
Current Modifications:
New Monroe front shock absorbersKing Superlow lowering springs
Varrstoen V3 16x8 4x100 wheels
Achilles ATR Sport 195/50/16s.
Now looks like this:
Future Plans:
E90 drop hats in the frontIS front lip
51mm strut tower conversion
-
Would they fit? Im trying to figure a way to drop the front a bit more as it sits way higher than the rear - I'm running King super lows.
-
I paid $5800 for mine with 65kms on the clock. Manual and mint inside and out.
-
I'll buy em straight off you?
-
They are still advertising 4 door kits on the auctions though? Tut tut.
-
A competent locksmith can help you sort this out. The original blank keys are better than the aftermarket sourced ones though. He will need to code off one of the barrels on the car though
Any idea of the cost involved?
-
gearbox? Glovebox?
Glovebox will be broken
Glovebox, sorry. I thought service key didn't open the glovebox, only the doors and ignition?
-
Looks like it was fairly painful to fit..
-
Can I get one directly from BMW if I have proof of ownership and the VIN? I have a service key for mine but no drivers key so sadly the glovebox is shut until I can get one. Any idea of the cost?
-
Im not in a rush to get one so maybe I'll wait until you finish yours. I cant even get hold of Driftmax to get real photos of the kit. The photos on Trademe are of real M-Tech IIs lol. Are you running a 4 door or 2 door?
-
Has anyone used one before? I'd like to see what they look like. Are they similar to the real thing?
-
I had a question about clearance and the offset being +25. How far out have 16x8s been pushed without guard rub? What tyres were you running?
Thanks pldubs I'll have a look. I am pretty governed by budget at the moment though.

If you do part it, I could be interested in some bits. How many ks are on the motor?
-
Agreed value for an E30 according to AMI and State is a maximum of $2900.. What a joke. I'll give Swann a call, thanks John.

No actually I didn't. I might give them a call tomorrow. My brother has his GTR insured with them on limited Ks per year. Pays about $200 a year and its insured for $40k.
