  2. I always like SMG, advocate for it.

Prove them haters when I drag their manuals with my non existent M3

But what if the haters have a 650whp N54 and drag you in a 3th gear pull from rest? :D

    *wont need to shift

ohh and I have nothing against an E46 M3, would happily have one in my garage for the windy roads

  3. Naww no need to take things so seriously Hey everybody hated my car originally. Dw, it will grow on me eventually.. I like them in white! Don't take life so seriously, it's not like you come out alive ;) so go get a fruit car and make it a males car with a killer power rating.

Haha yeah it will grow on you just like SMG, the VW, the Audi and a number of other things :o

  4. A fruits car (no offence to gays, I have lots of gay friends.. Probably more so than straight friends...) Is a car so small it can't be used for the obvious reasons a large car would be used (families, children, se...you get the idea) It only provides room for your gender identical counterpart and potential toy dog you may like to carry around in a man bag. *disclaimer: please take all above as a joke in a light hearted way - no offence intended for those who are attracted to the same sex*

It okay, I don't have a family of my own, children or toy dogs yet (sorry you beat me too it). So yes a 135i coupe that I can race around the track and daily drive is perfectly fine for me.

If you check out the specs you lose about 3cm in width and 24cm in length, most of which is boot space... compared to the 335i Coupe. Check out the image below, my height has no difference between a 135i coupe and a 335i coupe.

    Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I rest my case.

The term fruits car would probably be better suited to a convertible 1/3 series, or maybe an MX5 ;)

  5. Why not go for an e90 M3?

    I love the 135I's myself though - have driven a friend's one a few times and they're a blast.

Out of my price range and too much $$ to mod N/A. :D

Remember the 0-100 time of an M135 is the same as that of an E60 M5. Same for in gear acceleration between 80 and 120 kph. Unless you're on a track, the extra power of the M5 will never be used. The running costs however....they are there all the time.

Going straight to FBO then Stage2+ Turbo upgrades if the early testers come out with good results. It won't be your regular M135i.

I'm not sure the M5 is a car for NZ roads. It has a reasonably low torque figure for its engine size and weight of the car (525Nm vs. 450Nm for the M135) and weighs about 300kg more. It also develops that peak torque higher in the RPM range. It isn't an easy car to drive to its potential, and isn't that well suited to our shite roads. Sure, we'd all love one and know it's the daddy. But it's better suited to the Autobahn or Autostrada where it can embarrass Ferraris. Not here, where a boosted Evo will eat it to 100 kph beyond which you're dicing with the law.

Lets just say it is driven to it's potential most days :)

  7. Drove one for a year, (v8 version). Nice cruisers and definetly comfortable. However, only 330hp at the crank doesn't move the 2tonns around too quickly.

Fuel was about 14L/100km average and I have quite a heavy foot

Would hate to think how bad the 3.2 would be

  8. Selling the rest of my car whole. Could be ideal for someone wanting a good donor chassis or to make a track car.

Has had rear end reinforced with 4x m3 subframe mounting points, RTAB pocket plates and has no tire well replace with flat steel, good for a drop tank or fancy exhaust!

Straight body. Still road registered until late July and WOF until Sept!

Has pretty much everything except, front bumper and front lights, seats, door cards and roof liner, engine and gearbox, no front suspension and no diff.

Can be rolled onto a trailer, front end is supported on trailer jockey wheels.

Looking for $2000. The work done for reinforcements and rear tyre well delete cost more than that!

Sad to see her go! Stilling going to TT your Lexus V8 and put into soarer?

  9. Nice ride, looks really clean!

    Two quick things:

    1) A light ECU tune does wonders! My old man's E60 M5 went from averaging 30L/100km around town to 20L/100km around town, with increased throttle response, more power and the low end power bog greatly reduced. Cost just under a grand from Superchips (had two or 3 tune options as well, dad went for the more conservative "fuel efficient" tune), lots of other companies have reputable tunes as well - NZPT, Dinan come to mind. The tune also removed the top speed limiter to allow the full 330km/h rather than the measly 255km/h

    2) Your front splitters (AC Schnitzer reps?) will catch coming off speed bumps - and those daft parking curb stopper things.

Actually - previous number plate is BLUEFN? Any connection to Superchips' Bluefin?

    Anyway, welcome welcome!

    Thanks for the advice!

I may look into the tuning side in the future..but for now the budget is a little tight for a few weeks! Suprisingly the front splitters don't seem to touch anything, at least not yet (I have about 10 speedbumps between work and home)

And number plate wise, negative, BLUEFN was related to our old business name... Bluefin Technology. Although maybe I could sell it off to them!

  10. +1 on this... also eisenmann exhaust is a must!

    Already got one ;)

Hell of an introduction to BMW you've got yourself!

Prepare to spend a whole shedload of dough on dinosaur juice, the S85 isn't renowned for it's frugality....... but with 500hp & 380 ft/lb torque it's never gonna be a nana friendly daily driver

More pics or your membership will be cancelled

    Welcome aboard! :D

Only got back 2am this morning (sunday). Will take more pictures tomorrow hopefully!

Maybe we'll have some dry roads for a change...Surprisingly the trip from Wellington to Auckland averaged me 11.5l/100km.. it was pouring down tho, so 110 cruise control the whole way.

  11. Hi All!

So I've been persuaded by my 'adopted' sister to buy a BMW and join Bimmersport. Apparently you're a nice bunch, guess we'll have to see!

So a flight to Wellington with us expecting to come back on our return flights didn't happen. Instead I got to drive this beast from Wellington to Auckland! What a trip.

Basically I used to own an Audi A6 V8, plate: BLUEFN. You may have seen it around! However, time has come for a change which has seen me grabbing a 2005 BMW M5 E60 in Alpine White with Silverstone Leather! You may have seen it on Trade me.

Any tips or tricks for the E60 M5 would be greatly appreciated as this is the first BMW I have owned (driven many obviously).
