...when that teenager on Police 10/7 Ad says he owns a $10,000 BMW, what looks to be, E30?
I bet people at work are going to hurl comments tomorrow
-
the calculator never decides what you get your engine does ive used many software packages and the outcome isnt close to what it said some arent bad for head flow and cam spec like performance trends but the last program i tried with a twin turbo nissan v8 it said at 10lb boost it would make 380hp.....in real life it made 890hp and 900 ft/lb of torque im sure you can see the problem.
Yeah I just found that out... needed 25psi to make 550hp at 14.7air/fuel on 76lb@58psi injectors lol but running fuel line psi@100lb it gave me like 1200hp :S:S

Sorry you wont see all my input, but it gives me roughly what im hoping for in the end, so would it work even though its written for a v6 3l?
-
The sites for another car but I have input my details, so will this in-theory work?
-
ahh that looks sick! Goooo the E34! I got a Maroon one or whatever that deep red is and a silver one so i can only dream that mine could turn out like that
-
lol slightly pointless as we are talking about e34s here but okay :S threw me right off my chair
Whats all this talk of the chrome anyway? The M5 in the pic isnt chrome its the shiny new paint job throwing the sun and the sky

3L, 3.5L, 4.0L, 4.4L, 4.6L, 4.8L 5.0L.
?

The V8s in general had the wide kidneys. Also the V8s were the only E34 that were chrome.
Oh and Mike, are you kidding??? The amount of older GT5 cars is piss poor, that's what happens when the game is made in Japan, that's why they will always have Honda Odysseys and never have E34s.
Yeah sorry I forgot there was a 3l v8................... WHY I dont know lol
Thats what put me off GT5 lack of real cars, that and id have to buy a PS3
-
Nah Facelift model had Wide grille which was post 94?95? and 540 all years has wide grille, Which I think makes the E34 look the best, not a fan of narrow grille.... I quite often try to "accidentally" break mine as an excuse to get a wide grille, Dam things tuff though!

Awesome project well worth the 2 hours from page 1 - 18 (Yeah I read EVERY comment lol dont ask me why cause I dont know either)
Keep it up!

It'll probably be really depressing as it'll be slow compared to other cars you can drive in forza, and even after spending 70k or so it'll still be slow
Its surprisingly VERY well done, stock, amazingly fast and handles a dream, with the S38 maxed and turbo, its an R3 havent done engine conversion but you can choose V10 or V12
And free upgrades of course, BMW fanatic lvl 10 have atleast 1 of every BMW and duplicates with different upgrades lol addict much?

Dont be put off by the fan, just remember its Left hand thread

they are not plug and play...
you need to chop both plugs off each loom and join the m20 one to the m50 one. but before you do that, check what pin does what and make a note of it so you can connect it to the correct pin on the plug...
Awesome, thanks Polley I just wanted to confirm it was as simple as that, and thanks for heads up on what to use and what to look out for, Legend mate!
-
FFS just had a good look at it, M20 Body loom has 20 pin and M50 Engine loom has 26 Pins
-
noooo I wanna connect the loom to the body.... you know so you can turn the key and the engine starts? gauges and all that? the MS is later down the track, I have the M50 ECU connected at the moment so I can get it running
You know where you plug that BMW Code reader thing into, that round plug that has a cap on it you unscrew and it has like 3 pins and a keyway? Right next to it is where the Loom connects to the **CAR'S** Loom
-
Does anyone know anyone who has made an M20 E34 an M50 E34?
Or does anyone know how to connect the M50 engine loom to the chassis harness?
As simple as cutting off the M50 style plug and wiring on the M20 style plug? From memory the E34 Harness is a star and the M50 loom is a Moon shape?
Please help as its the last step to firing this engine!

a lot of bmw guys have used them and had success and if its the right price then go for it just make sure the unit works ok before wiring it in theres a guy on trademe that sells them maybe worth talking to when the time comes
Yeah I got in contact with the TradeMe Megasquirt man, Hes rigged up M50 MS's before and seems to know what hes doing and has base maps for them which is a huge start
-
Ive got a megasquirt sitting on the desk next to me atm, was planning to use that, Im a DIY extremist lol with the right information ANYONE can do almost anything IMO, thanks Crunchy, will definitely PM you if I run into issues
-
I know not ONE 18 year old who owns a garage or has the money to buy a Z3 wrecked or not let alone an M5 V10, But Kudos for being born into the right family!
-
Is making the M50 loom mate to Chassis loom as easy as changing the plug to the M20 plug?
-
i made my own flywheel getting it down to 5kg and even with the big cams and same car as yours i didnt losse a lot of down low pull but i would suggest getting your rebalanced with the pressure plate.
Definately going to get it balanced... wouldnt want that thing coming off or blowing to bits
And your builds Premo EXTREMO of course yours will pull hard!
