Seems like a decent one. I was reading all his research and it was pretty interesting.

Bought one from Reslers yesterday after reading all the reviews. Hopefully is all good!

What year is your car? Mine is a 2007 LCI....has a hard drive nav unit in the boot, which is missing the drive itself. Got me perplexed whether t I can smack another drive in it with the structures set up right to NZ maps or use a Nav Cd to update it.

Anyone know where the best palce to get an Ibus connector/kit is? Need it for Navcoder. Matt

I know not much about this stuff to be honest. I can get into my Nav menu though. Id love to have Satnav but cant justify changing the unit out just for that. If there was a way to code it (which I have all the software and cable for, but haven the time to play with it), I'd do it. Mine is an LCI so it has a lot of extra stuff coded to it already. All I really need to do is change the radio from Jap spec to NZ.

Cops and the 4 kmh over posted speed limits

True story. -
There are good ones and bad like everyone said. I have one on my 5 series. I do the work myself and bill it through my work (Im a Mechanic), which is fine by the Warranty company as long as I have legit receipts and invoices.

I'm originally from Melbourne, and the cops will ping you for 3km/h over the limit any day of the year. Also, mobile phone fine is around $420 and 4 demerit points (we only have 12). In addition to that, Australia has 'Double points' over long weekends and Christmas holidays. So your 4 point phone fine just turned to 8 points and your 3 points for running a red light just earned you 6 points... We have it easy here, trust me. Even more harsh is their stance on modified cars but we wont go there today.... -
Thanks for the input guys. Maybe ill just save the cash money for a set of wheels instead. Mine is an LCI anyway, has Bluetooth, AUX etc. Just annoys me that the NAV and TV/DVD don't work. Mainly the Nav.

Just wanting to hear from anyone that has gone from the CCC to CIC, and was it worth the upgrade? (Im going to assume yes!) Also wanting to know what I need, i mean everything down to cable ties if need be, where to get it, and who is reliable enough to get it from! Cheers Matt

Haha mine still beeps too, its really annoying at times when listening to music!

May have to invest in the changeover. I'm not keen of having usefull things in my car that dont work haha.

Wow. So not really a money saving idea on BMWs part, making the idrive/nav different hardware from region to region. Being a Mechanic by trade, I though it Would have been easier and cheaper to make one generic unit and just program it to suit Japan, ND etc. I'll give the above a call. Thanks for the heads up fellas.

Hi there, Just got hold on a Jap import 2007 530 LCI with Pro Nav. (CCC system) I have searched High and low but cannot find a definitive answer for the question I have. So much info out there, but its all not really relating to the HDD in the boot. Anyway... Just want to know how to update the maps to NZ maps. As I said, Professional nav but the HDD Nav system is in the boot. The only steps I can find is: Find new Nav update. Burn to DVD. Put DVD in the player. Go into the Nav screen , Let system update. Is this correct? I have burnt a 2015 ISO to a DVD and tried it but nothing happens. Any help is appreciated. Matt Edit: I could also be mistaking the Pro version for the High version. Someone told me that the High is the one in the boot?
