  1. @Jacko I have the bmw software scanner Ista and c310 scanner. Only egs 2dca(No signal detected). @nath - oh crank sensor also do that?! Mine as stated, my delphi ignition coil failed after a year and a half just driving from home to office like 5km away.
  2. Since last year , I have this experience that when I pressed my brake hard on the while waiting for the traffic light to turn green, randomly I get this shake like somebody hit you at the back. And when I accelerate, I will experience this thud and you feel like you hit something and the rpm goes very high then it will catch up after the slip. Then this month, it became occasionally and no longer intermitent. When you hold and press the brake and your Transmission is in D or DS, The car shake many times and I noticed the D or DS will blink. I tried to to do the manual steptronic. So it will go to 5th to 6th gear then suddenly it will go to DS and slip. And you are in brake in the traffic light and when you accelerate , thud and No power at all like a neutral. I was thingking the torque converter is damage. But there is no CEL. Then I checked you tube and maybe it is the IGNITION COIL has lots of signal interference that it will affect the Transmission Module to lost connection. But I bought a new set delphi 2 years ago so it must still be good so I suspect that the Neutral Idle Control is not working properly. Last nice I decided to remove the ignition coil, clean the harness, spray it with an electric cleaner and randomly place back all the ignition coil. Tested it and after 5 minutes of driving, the symptoms reoccure and got worst. So I decided why not put all my original Ignition coil back to my car. I did that and test and BOOM everything works perfectly now. (FIXED) I thought DELPHI coils are good? damage less than years? Weird. Oh, it has a 2DCA Egs no connection thingy error but it will not cause the engine light to switch on.

  4. So, my car has a jolt and hard shift after changing transmission oil. After a year, I check the net and youtube, they fix it when resseting the adaptation. I tried to reset the adaptation and car went smooth acceleration is ok and stuff. But after a month, car will jolt as if somebody bump to you at the back. Sometimes, when during traffic stop (Traffic light is red), it jolt like somebody bump you. If you do nothing, it gets very worst. From just during hard brake, it will not jolt from acceleration from 2nd to 3rd gear and from 3rd to 2nd gear. If you reset it again, It will come back to smooth again. Then after a month or more it will go back to it. It will happen fast if you are driving the car like 30 minutes or more. I was thinking disabling the NIC (Neutral Idle Control)? Or need to check my fluid level? I remember when changing my radiator, the mechanic also remove the small radiator which is connected to the radiator. Maybe it is no longer optimum? Thanks.

  6. Topaz/bapmic bought from OZ. My AC blower is topaz already 5 years old and counting. Maybe i am just lucky with the vvt motor or vice versa. Any way to check the VVT motor before opening my car again? Can I use my car with VVT malfunction? My old VVT motor has 2a67 Valvetronic , internal fault and 2a6b valvetronic,powerlimitation,servomotor.
  7. Just an update on this. Try to relearn vvt motor end stops. VVT motor wont do it. So I open the car engine again. And behold, the worm gear is in the Maximum to the counter clockwise direction. Put back my original VVT motor and do the relearn and relearn successful. Put the new VVT motor again and try to do a relearn and failed. So I put back my old VVT , relearn stops and Car starts and run now. When the worm gear is on maximum on the counter clockwise? What angle is that? Car wont really start with that position. When doing a relearn, the worm gear in relation to the worm shaft,there is like 5 teeth of the gear on the right side. (That position will start the engine). Observation. When you pressed start the engine without pressing brakes, the VVT motor will really moved. It seems like the NEW VVT motor could not moved correctly to the point where the computer wants it so does the error.

  9. I just switch ignition 2 and wait for 10 minutrs. Would that calibrate the end stops?
  10. My E90 n46 won't start 2 days after I changed the VVT motor. I tried to start the engine for a long time and suddenly engine lights comes on, 2a67 Valvetronic , internal fault and 2a6b valvetronic,powerlimitation,servomotor. Car cranks good and just that. Did starting my engine long destroyed my new vvt motor? My vvt motor destroyed my engine as well? Tried to remove the Eccentric shaft sensor plug. Then start the engine it only shows error 2a59 2a55 -- eccentric shaft sensor. Put the plug back again and error is gone. Still wont start. Remove and reinsert the VVT motor's electric plug. Engine won't start. When inserted the new VVT motor, I press the start button to ignition 2 (Engine not idling) and wait for a long time and hear lots of sounds from the engine. Then started the engine idled for 15 minutes. Test run the car running it in the Motor way for more an hour and everything wents smooth and ok. No vibration in idling, rpm no longer going up and down etc. Then after 2 days, wify called , car just cranks and wont start. When I start the engine (crank long), I can smell gasoline fume. RPM goes up. Now i don't know what to do. Can ultra grey silicon damage your engine when some of it go to the engine? Any help would be appreciated ty.

  13. I want to replace my VVT motor actuator. But checking on the DIY there is this thing called BMW Three bond sealant to be place on every half moon shape on part of my n46 engine before putting back the valve cover.   14. Hello, Anyone tried to disable the valvetronic system on N46? I was planning to just disable it. In the net, some say it is good and some say it will just do a limp mode. Any experience guys? Thank you.
  15. Hello , what is the cause of this problem 2a59 and 2a67? Car sounds weird, and has intermittent cyclic rattle inside the car. I cleared it and it went ok after I just switch the car on without pressing breaks?
  16. Okay, Pressing the start button on my n46 e90 without pressing the brakes. Just left it like that. Notices that I heard the throttle body adjusting. Also hear a lot of other noises from the engine and after sometime it all stop no more noise. Is that normal?
  17. When I checked it, it has like oil on the left side of the plug not all of it. Not full. So do you mean, my rough idle at cold start could also be cause by the sensor? Replacing a shaft sensor is not a DIY job .... bummer. My rpm on the dashboard is not erratic up and down though. 1k rpm some noticeable shake then at 800. Normal no movement on the needle pointer.
  18. oh that rings a bell! Last month I have this. 29F5: Catalytic-Converter Conversion 2 2DCA No message from EGS, receiver DME, transmitter EGS/SMG/DKG 2A67 DME:Valvetronic, internal Fault. I have research the 2 error and they said they got fix with new set of coils. The 2 problem above did not happened again so far. 2A67 --> hopefully will not happened again after changing eccentric shaft sensor gasket. This happened twice. Maybe this happened after a long drive to the motorway...
  19. Thank you guys! Anyway my symptoms was this. When cold startup. When RPM is up 1000 rpm. It shakes. Then if you wait when it go to below 1k and stay there in 750 i think. It will be normal. One time it happens when I tried to press the pedal and move the car, it hesitates. @Vass -- where is the idle control valve located? Car is n46 e0- 2006. Ok i will clean the throttle and maf and idle control valve @jon dee Thank you for that. How do you load the youtube like that? I will edit this post so that my youtube vid will like that too.
  20. Hello, I am changing my ignition coil coz my n46 is no 140k and vibrating at cold start. When I removed the ignition coil, The original coils seems to have a grease on it? The replacement bosch/Goss of one of the ignition coil has no grease on it. Is that grease normal? Now , my new coils are delphi. The only step that i should do is, put some dieletric grease on the tip using cotton buds and insert right? I have a video posted for this. Please advice. Thanks

  22. My eccentric shaft sensor plug has oil on it. I need to replace the gasket. However I need to clean the oil from the connector and pins. How can I remove the oil without damaging anything? Thanks.
  23. My window regulator was damage so I need to replace it. However, I tried to use a silicon rubber to attached the polyurethane cover instead of that black sticky thing. What is that called can we buy something like that in new zealand?
