Cheers, SuperCheap auto have coils and plugs for $1250, anywhere do it better than that, seems pretty high or am I just really naïve, ignorant and cheap? probably all three.
I'm no mechanic or fool, but with a few YouTube vids are they easy enough to replace yourself?

So Installed some software and plugged laptop into car with trepidation and got the following codes, screen shots etc. Any help deciphering this would be great.
Maybe O2 sensors and a miss fire on 6 and 8. New coils maybe??

My 04 545i is now running real rough. Started with just the odd what sounded like a miss fire when cold a couple a weeks ago and would soon come right and idle smoothly. Now it's constantly running rough, not 100% if it's a misfire, or running on 7 or what. I have tried cleaning the mass airflow sensor as one thing I might be able to do but made no difference.
Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm in Dunedin, if anyone here would be willing to help, yarn or suggest someone who may be able to help that would be great. I have just bought a K+DCAN cable to have a crack at trying to work out what might be wrong, but need to work out how to use that first too.

So the old girls got these 20" monters on it, 275/30 and 245/30 (maybe 35) and well it rides pretty harsh and even rubs occasionally under only moderate cornering or bumps on the open road. Nice wheel and tyres to look at but too harsh a ride for around town. Would 18's with 245/40's ride a lot smoother? Hyper Drive have some M6 look a likes well priced at the moment. Anyone interested in these Niches?

Nice car, makes me want an E30 now, or an E21, anyone on here know what happened to that white E21 on TradeMe last year.
What parts from your kit do you still need to add? Looks pretty good now, less is more sometimes.

Yea cheers, I watched this one the other day, I actually bought a repco restoration kit for my E39 a few years ago which I never used, comes with a can of UV protective sealant so hoping that will do a similar job to the clear coat in this vid. It only comes with 600 grit sand paper and a coarser soft block sander, so will get some 1000 - 3000 options as well.

Cheers, I have actually found it had BT and is paired to the on board phone (no simm) and I can even pair my Samsung Galaxy S3 to it but then it doesn't do anything. I don't know, not that fussed as would hardly use but would like to have it working if it's there. Might get one of those FM transmitter BT units too, they takes mini cards and charge and only cost $20-$30 on 1 - day deals.

Looks good, just joined and bought an 04 E60 too. i drive just looks like a fancy way of doing stuff all other cars do in some way or another. Although with the DVD I think it has Sat Nav. Is getting Sat Nav DVD off trademe all that's required to get up and running on I drive.
Keen to try and get Aux and or Blue tooth too, will be keeping an eye on here to see how you go.

She wasn't the flashest car on here but it was mine and I loved her. Only the 523i but the fella who bought it new put M Sport wheels, steering wheel, door entry trim stuff, black leather, may have been lowered etc felt real nice to drive and surprising how well an older 2.5ltr can go. Better than any 1996 sh*t box Commodore or Falcon still knocking about.

Finally got an 04 545i, wish me luck. Haven't even laid eyes on it yet as being delivered tomorrow. Looking forward to spending the long weekend getting used to it.
Had an E39 523i two cars back and been hanging out for another Beemer but with some grunt since.
Keen to keep an eye on here for tips, advice, parts, drives/runs and anything social.
