E39 brakes, steering wobble - warped rotors?
kiwiscot replied to oscar90's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Quite right. Had the E39 shimmy (70/80km cruising or braking). New "Thrust Arms' (Reaction rods?) and it's as good as gold. A mere $1,000. (Its not a car...it's a hobby) -
Cover it with an M Badge?

Thanks for this. Anyone have a pro unit? Or do I need to translate pages and pages of German Ebay to get one? Should I put my request on "Wanted to buy?" on this forum?

Sorry about the cross post. Still working this new fangled stuff out. But you guys are awesome. I wish there had been a forum like this when I was raising my kids. (Easier to work on, but the parts are WAY more expensive).

I don't have Nav. Just TV and Tuner. Does this make a difference?
-
When you change the Japanese tuner to an NZ New type, does the display show the correct KHz? or is still the same as if you had a band expander on the old Japanese one? '97 E39 540i Cheers.

thanks for the input. I was just wondering if the NZ plate people had a problem with accents. (Much like the German CEO of Aston Martin, who refers to their top marque as a "Wankwish".

car has a top speed of 135 miles per hour and can go from zero to 60 in 2.5 seconds. Oh,,,Ok... As you were. Nuff said.

I have 4 x Hiace vans. Does anyone know if the plate "Vankey" would pass the censors?

Oppps... I suck at image manipulation. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks good to me. All the niggles should be sorted by then. Pristine E39, Stock Standard. I'll be there barring some annoying money making interference. (I'm in Silverstream..I like yer itinerary) Cheers, Alan

'97 E39 540iA Bought it off a dentist. I suspect he cleaned it twice a day with vigorous brushing. It has no plaque.

How is an E39 540i like a rugby scrum at traffic lights?

I thought traction control only affected the wheelspin, not the suspension. *smirk* -

Ohhhhh...Nasty. But on the other hand, at least you can say "yes, it's broken, but watch the game next week" (standard all black excuse) Assuming yer bimmer is all black....like mine *s* -
The E39 540i is my second BMW. First love was a '95 e36 coupe. Unfortunately it was viciously raped by a vindictive little boundary fence 130 metres after a particularly nasty corner. (pic attached...The tree on the floor is what went through the battery) Some of you may be feasting from its remains at a wreckers in Palmerston North. *sad weepy look* But on a happy note, I picked up the E39 for peanuts,(160km) and thanks to the knowledge and helpfulness in this forum, I will have the pixels and the E39 shimmy fixed next week. You guys RULE!

And 6.4 seconds later, you get red carded.
