  2. Resolved: I went back and check everything and found that a connector wasn't connected properly in the IHKA module. What I discovered (I'm guessing here) is that the Heater control valves did not operate which caused the engine to overheat and begin detonating. Anyway I plugged in the loose harness and everything went back to normal, detonation immediately stopped.
  3. Climate control system IHKA faultSo i did something regrettable which was driving around when i had temporarily disconnected the IHKA climate control system. Why i did this is another story. Anyway when i put everything back together again and reconnected it i came up with a code fault for every sub system for the module. I tried clearing codes, resetting module, and disconnecting battery to reset but nothing seems to work. The AC doesn't work anymore, and it seems like some components within climate control are no longer working. I.e heat exchanges, fan control, stratification. All I get is uncontrolled air flowing through. Is there a specific reinitialization sequence to get the climate control working again? The code faults are:KLIMA 9C70: ISupply,SZMKLIMA E708:KLIMA 9C59: IEvaporator termperature sensorKLIMA 9C5A: IHeating heat-exchanger sensor, leftKLIMA 9C5C: IHeating heat-exchanger sensor, rightKLIMA 9C60: ISZM button 1KLIMA 9C61: ISZM button 2KLIMA 9C62: ISZM button 3KLIMA 9C63: ISZM button 4KLIMA 9C65: ISZM variant coding 2
  4. Lack of competition allows mutual understandings borderline collusion between businesses to exploit markets with an inelastic demand. Another words, you need a tyre? We'll sell you the tyre we want you to buy, not the other way around.
  5. You can mix from front to rear but not left to right.
  6. Anodizing is a bit tricky, in my case and probably others the oxidation has formed underneath the anodised layer. This means it has to be bathed with an etch which removes the anodizing layer 12-15 microns. Now you can treat the oxidation by polish or more chemicals. Once oxidation is removed you have to restore coatings that you just removed which is "Bright dipping" then followed by anodizing process. I didn't consider changing the colour, but in saying that I didn't really like the aluminum color in the first place... maybe I'll anodize them black?
  7. Hi all, I have a X5 E70 m sport that has aluminum trims. While the vehicle was sitting in Japan for extended time the aluminum trims have oxidized and look like crap. Im looking at re-anodizing them to restore them but the problem is only 1 crowd does the specific method in NZ and it costs a bomb. Im in no rush to get this done but looking at getting some numbers to reduce overall costs if anyone was thinking of doing this? Anyone wanting to participate?
  8. Hi Sobanoodle, I dropped you a PM, do you have some maps still? Thanks BNZ
  9. I do recall reading a thread about this. Its Jochen 4th post down. The country coding of the entire vehicle needs to be done otherwise it will just revert back.

  13. Hello to anyone out there, Does anyone have a copy NZ maps for a Professional Navigation series system? Cheers
  14. Yeah I bought it off TM locally as well. However he's telling me that I need to the root the phone and turn on USB debugging. It seems too complicated for something that should work straight away.... Did you buy yours from a guy called Shashika?
  15. Hi Guys, This might be a basic one to resolve, I'm a new E70 X5 owner so I wasn't schooled up on resetting all the service modules through the cluster. Anyway, I changed the front brake pads and rotors and about 500kms later the front brake service mileage triggered. I've tried resetting through the cluster but it won't allow me (the reset prompt just disappears and reappears but doesn't reset) I've scrolled through many forums with the results saying you have to do the reset process a few times to work to replace the sensors. I've read that if the system thinks the sensors are worn then you have to replace them, however my question is if I have recently changed the pads then there shouldn't be any opportunity for the sensors to wear any further, therefore they shouldn't need to be changed. To resolve the problem other replacing the sensors do I need a OBD tool to clear the service trigger to reset it? Or can I disconnect and reconnect the same sensors to trick the system to think that I have installed new sensors? Some insight would be appreciated. Thanks
  16. Hi, I'm tempted in buying but still attempting to get to work. I bought a K+DCAN cable along with a female USB to USB joiner to connect to my S7. I couldn't get it to connect so I can't commit to anything. ( Icarly free version but same result) Either I'm doing something wrong or there something wrong with my cable? If I get going and I purchase I will let you know. '
