Alright a new battery it is..

Looking for a cheap good battery for an e30. Heard there were some for 50? But dont know where the dismantlers is..

Oh cheers for that link. Will check the ignition switch. Anything in particular i should be looking for on it? Burnt out or something and any tests i can do to test it? Ill follow the link u gave. Hoping it works as need to get the manual box in.....

It was starting before so im sure its not ignition switch Plugs were already tested and had spark.Definitley heaps of fuel in the tank. Will try the voltage test and fuel rail test soon. Im hoping it is just filter. But when i turn the key the pump doesnt make the humming sound but does have voltage passing and have replaced it with another pump and still no hum.. Also does anyone know what voltage the pump is meant to be getting? and also the coil pack? edit: could it be the fuel filter?cos when i got it towed the car was tilted which would have passed fuel through and when started the fuel would still have been pressurized by the pump which wouldve kept it running..

Drove the car for quite awhile few days ago (from west to south) and turned it off, then started again from mangere to puhinui. Stopped and turned the car off, then wouldnt start again. When i first started it when i stopped it started for a quick second and sounded like a rotary/misfire type sound. Got it towed home and it started again at home, day after i started it and went fine till i went up a few meters to get gas and turned it off. Didnt start again after and till now. Have chanegd the pump and nothing. No hum on the pump when started. Put a volt meter on there and got 7 volts. What could be the problem?

Just wondering if anyone has these things for sale. Interested in a manual and auto box for 320i fl e30 and prices for a running gear (engine w/box) to fit e30 fl and most likely straight bolt on.

Was afraid of that. If i was to get an auto box, is it easy to DIY?Do have mechanical skills but if it requires a lot of work might aswell get ray to do it. And what does it consist of?

Took my car for a ride today and dont know what happened but the reverse is not working. Park works but when on neutral it will go forward and will work like 1. On reverse it wont move anywhere but reverse lights are on and if you floor it, the revs only go up to 2000-2500rpm and wont go any further. All others (1,2,3 and drive) all work as normally. What could be wrong?

Been driving around and lately seems like im getting poor fuel consumption. Using 91, top up 20 and only got around 50km. Is it just me? If not what can i do to improve the consumption? Engine is a m20b20 on e30 auto

Okay just doing abit of research on these things as im stuck whether i should keep my e30 or sell it off to get another civic eg sedan. These topics seem to always come up when talking about bmw's so needing opinions. Now just needing to know are parts really that hard to track down? And is the maintenance really that hard? EG electricals, engine maintenance and etc. Ive gotten a few good things about e30s from the nzhondas crew so pls no trash talk on the civic cos its FWD.

With the thermostat O ring, is it the o ring first then the thermostat then cap? m20 engine

Had a look through there but their more bbs rs ones and not bmw ones.

okay. Got me a Tridon tt274 180 from sta. put it on the thermostat housing and it seems that its quite short. The thing isnt blocking the hole like it should be doing. Can i still use it or is it really just the wrong part?cos even on the website it says its the right one and is a bypass type. Can i still use this or really wrong part.

Needing another housing. It must be from m20b20 and two holes for the sensor.

Car is an 88 e30 320i. Just bought a second hand thermostat housing and just found out once i installed it, they were both different to each other. The one that was on the car before had only two holes for the sensors but the new one has a couple of holes. And now my sensor doesnt fit because its hitting the fuel rail. Would i have to change housings fully or can i do something else??

I have just bought a thermostat from STA Parts and it seems like it doesnt fit properly into the housing. It is Tridon TT274-180
