  1. Thanks Outkast - great post. I ended up getting this stuff and it did a great job. Did a fair bit of scrubbing and rinsing but it came out really well and got rid of all the stains. Water proofing appears to work well as last weekend car clean had the water beading nicely. It will do two clean and treatments so am sorted for next year. Had a fair amount of algae at the base of the roof but a bit of elbow grease got it all off in the end.
  2. Hi Karl. Welcome - I am from CHCH too but a little more a noob to BMWs than you - thoroughly enjoying my car! Roger T
  3. Hi all. I read around about cleaning the soft top and there are quite a few recommendations I have found on US forums, but they are using a range of products that are not readily available in NZ. For those out there with soft tops, what do you guys use to clean and condition them? My lid is gray rather than black Thanks - Roger T
  4. Hi all. Just became the proud owner of a 2006 E85 Z4 with 35k on the clock. It is a real minter and myself and a mate had the privilege of driving her down from Auckland to Christchurch last weekend. This is the first performance car I have ever owned and my second BMW - last one was short lived and over 30 years ago. It is a real minter and I am one very proud owner. I am not looking to do to much but want to turn on all the hidden extras, try and re-purpose the 6cd changer and get NZ maps on the NAV system. I have very useful neighbor who changed the nav display to English and the tuner to Oceania in about 3 minutes flat when I got home with it on Sunday, but will be looking for pointers and advice around unlocking any other features that car may have. I have found this site https://www.bcables.com/ but am not keen to make any purchases until I am sure that I am getting the right gear.
