HI all
I need to get my rear shocks replace in my e30 coupe as they are shot to sh*t. At the same time id like to get my rear bushings replaced with urethane ones i had imported a while ago.
Can anyone recommend someone closeish to Auckland central(purely for getting there and back, ill happily make an effort to go further afield for someone who is awesome) that you would recommend? Anyone got a ball park figure as what it should cost?
What do people recommend brand/spec wise for shocks btw?
Thanks in advance

Hi all
I had a pretty interesting situation occur and i can't work out whats happened.
I recently had to change the master cylinder on my car, so i took the opportunity to do a pile of maintenance. This included oil change, fluids and my valve cover gasket as it was leaking oil everywhere. After changing the valve cover gasket i water blasted the engine bay to get rid of the oily gunk on the engine
Since then my battery has been going flat? this morning i went down stairs and my alarm was making an awkward whizzing sound (i'd heard it during the night but assumed it was the wind and not my car) and it failed to start.
I jump started the car and everything was fine, took it for a 15 minute drive but came back to a dead car again and the alarm was going again (it goes as soon as the battery is disconnected).
Could I have done some damage to the electrics whilst i water blasted it? Or is it unrelated? What should i look at?
Failing all this, who knows a good auto electrician in Auckland ?

New clutch master and slave cylinder, oil filter and oil change, new coolant, new gear box oil, new VC gasket, new wof, new rego. Off to the panel beaters next week to get some supermarket scratches sorted and a cut and polish

I used a 30d for years and I loved it, tbh if you are just learning and have a strict budget you should spend less on the body and more on the lenses because that's were you will actually learn. the 30d is a robust and well tested body and having a couple of options with your lens will drive a better learning experience.
If you need any help with your photography or want to test out some canon gear just fire me a message.
here is what i would recommend based on your budget
canon 30d, $350ish

with either
Canon 18-55, 90-140ish

and
Canon 50 1.4, 500ish

or
Sigma 17-70, 450ish

and
50 1,8, 180ish

buy a couple of cheap memory cards (i actuall have a couple of 2gb ones you can have) and you are set.

I have a valve cover for my e30 that has some paint that wasn't applied properly and i need to take it off so I can do it again.
Does anyone know a good media/sand blaster in Auckland to clear it off? What should I expect to pay for this? Or is there some other solution?
