Hi all, will introduce myself proper when I get the car back from the Mrs and take some photos etc.
We recently picked up a white 2013 116i Sport, and am already keen on tuning it. This is a second family car, used as a run-a-bout but not a daily. Would like to take it to my mechanic for health check prior to tuning.
But my question, after a quick search, has anyone done any DIY tuning with the affordable gear I've seen online from AliExpress? Is it a case of buying a programmer, removing ECU, downloading a file and writing it into the system? Is it worth $1000+ to get it done professionally versus trying to do something for 2-300?
