  1. Wow, a blast from the past reading this post. 7 years later, I've launched a NZ version of the website. Just posting this here for those who find this post in the Archives. PM me if you have trouble finding the site in Google. (don't want to be flamed by overzealous rule-fiends for advertising) FYI the lighter weight material, Inconel is now available for selected exhausts on the site (they are listed as Inconel exhausts). Eg. Porsche headers, and some Ferrari exhausts. Mike
  2. Thanks Andrew. I've had similar advice from other e60/e61 M5 owners. Oh so tempting too, as my wife likes to drive my cars, and she doesn't drive manual transmission, to the paddles make it usable for her. Otherwise I'd get a Manual Transmission car, as the Audi slushbox is driving me nuts (even with tiptronic).
  3. I'm looking at getting a RWD BMW M model, fairly limited $$$ so a brand new M2 or M3 is not an option. Options I'm looking at are: E60 M5 - mechancial/upkeep risk - affordable to buy, nearly even changeover cost with my current car Z4M - right on the limit of my price range - great car - limited room for luggage 1M - seems like the best middle option within my price range E9x M3 - just outside my price range Thoughts? Ideas? Mike
  4. Once again, I'd like to offer a generous discount (5% off Supersprint) to all Bimmersport NZ members. www.bestexhaust.com.au discount voucher used at checkout: SSFIVE Mike

  8. Hi, Just a reminder that www.bestexhaust.com.au are pleased to offer bimmersport.co.nz members a 5% discount off our range (not applicable with any other discount or offer) - use voucher code BIMMER. We've recently sold a customer our first E60 M5 rear valve exhaust by Meisterschaft. Note, prices are in Australian Dollars and include 10% GST. New Zealand customers will have the GST deducted on checkout, and may be liable for local taxes and duties upon arrival. Mike Best Exhaust www.bestexhaust.com.au
  9. When I was looking, I spoke to a guy about an RS4, and he went on to tell me that the engine had been just replaced under warranty, and how much it costed him to service etc. 305kW did sound kinda cool, but I went for the S4 instead... It's a nice car, but not so highly strung... With exhaust and tuning, it should get up around 280-290kW which is plenty... And don't make me cry. Remus??? That's like dressing your supermodel girlfriend in a Target dress. It'll do the job, but it'll look like crap, and not make the right noises. I've put $3000 worth of Supersprint cat back with x-pipe on mine, and it's amazing. The fit was perfect! Not too loud, but like an orchestra under the bonnet when you mash the pedal... I'm now looking at a pair of front pipes and cats as well as Air Intake and ECU tuning. The M3 (the alternative) was just too expensive. I didn't see the value proposition in paying 50% more??? 10. Please note that the discoutns for Meisterschaft and FabSpeed have ended, however the discounts for Borla and kreissieg remain active Mike Best Exhaust
  11. Hi, I've been looking at buying a 2nd hand E46 M3, as I currently drive a heavily modified but highly reliable daily driver Nissan 200SX (Silvia) S15 Turbo. I test drove an E46 M3 SMG the other day, and I did like the car, but the SMG system seems totally alien to me. I guess its something you get used to... I was concerned that these cars are getting old, so unless they're owned by enthusiasts, then the overall condition will be potluck... I'd be interested from hearing from E46 M3 owners, preferably owners who drive their cars to their full potential and who have mechanical knowledge of their cars (ie. knows what an engine is, and what a gearbox is.) The chassis of the E46 M3 seems to be great and the grip formidable, but I was a bit worried from the burning smell coming from the factory standard car after a somewhat sedate test drive. The car had only done about 65,000km. My 200SX, by comparison, has done 175,000km, and I have no problem doing hill climb events, or motorkhanas, and revving its tits off any every opportunity. I've owned the 200SX since it was 1 year old in 2003. I look forward to hearing from you. MikeG www.bestexhaust.co.nz

  13. It's certainly got my interest...
  14. We've added a selection of BMW M5 systems to our range. We can also supply Eisenmann exhausts... POA Mike
  15. As BIMMERSPORTs newest sponsor, we would like to offer Free Shipping to all our New Zealand customers, and a $300 discount on Supersprint brand exhausts. (voucher code NZ300) We also give you the best prices on Borla, Supersprint, Capristo, Tubi Style, Kreissieg, Fabspeed, & Meisterschaft exhausts. If it's not listed on our site, contact us and we'll find the best options for your application. We specialise in European and Exotic vehicles, as well as many other vehicles. 16. I drop ship direct from wherever I source the parts - for SuperSprint that is Italy. Supersprint is OK, but it's certainly not the best of the best, it's good stuff though... My choice would be Capristo generally... But their range is very limited. OEM exhausts are rarely made for performance, and race exhausts these days are not Titanium as its not light enough... (we're talking F1 and nascar, etc) It's probably a good compromise for club level motorsport.
  17. I've added a voucher code of NZ300 for Supersprint orders. Don't use it on orders for anything else, because I'll reject them. I've fixed a bug in the checkout for NZ orders, so now shipping is in fact free
  18. For the 911 Turbo, either QuickSilver, SuperSprint or Kreissieg (in order of least expensive to most expensive) For the E39 530i, the only choices are SuperSprint or Meisterschaft (a new brand I'm in the process of bringing onboard that specialises in BMW) There are thousands of exhaust systems still to go onto the website, so pm or email me if you have an enquiry for something that is not on my site. Mike.
  19. Just to give everyone an idea... Supersprint Stainless turbo-back without cat (not available yet) from AUD$2426.36 (NZ$3060) including shipping excluding taxes and including the discount offered above. (pm me to discuss in more detail) Titanium is a bit of a fad. If you want light weight then Inconel is the way to go... Mike
  20. Hi everyone! I've realised that I've not told you how purchases will work. If you go to the website listed above, prices will be in AUD and include 10% GST. For anyone outside Australia, if you register at the site, it will remove the GST when you're logged on. You'll just have to pay the New Zealand taxes and duties when the shipment enters the country. Payment is via PayPal in AUD (I'll waive the fee) so you can pay with Visa or Mastercard. So all you need to factor in is the ticket price ex GST plus NZ taxes and duties. I'm working on an international site that will live at www.best-exhaust.com when I get budget and time to do something about it... MikeG
  21. Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've joined not because I'm a BMW owner, but more to contribute to the site and offer my breadth of motorsport and exhaust experience to members. Hopefulyl this will be a win win for the members and my business. If I like what I see here, I'll probably become a sponsor. If you have any questions, give me a hollar by pm or via my website. Mike www.bestexhaust.com.au (free shipping to NZ plus a $300 discount on Supersprint exhausts to forum members in NZ)
