Not sure on Torque logging boost with the N54 engine. On the N55 it works ok, I've tried it on mine before. Whats the min and max readings you're seeing? Negative values when cruising or idling is normal as it can create a slight vacuum when not under load.
torque logging measures the vacuum in negative but does not go into positive... i hear the turbos spoolings so it maybe the software not reading correctly

Hi team,
i hope this message finds you well.
I had my vacuums lines replaced 2 weeks ago along with rear turbo. ( wastegate was stuck in the open position)
The job was completed by a BMW dealer under warranty, so it should be good workmanship ( we hope so anyway )
The car drove like a rocket for the first 2 weeks,
then i noticed a slight loss of power, exhaust slightly louder, car running slightly sluggish.
no engine lights have come on, no fault codes from Torque engine management diagnostic tools and MHD flasher
NOTE: Toruqe app real time boost psi and vacume readings do not go into positive, is this normal? 335i.pdf335i.pdf
I dont have anymore to evidence to show the workshop. and they are hesitant to help further
Is there anymore testing i can do or any advice from fellow BMW owners to help build a case to present to dealership.
any advice would be appreciated.
(I have attached a copy of invoice notes, to give a clearer picture)
regards

I use the MHD tuning android app with my n54, it pulls up any codes pretty well, happy to try it if you want to come by sometime? I'm in grey lynn. Might need to be able to reproduce the code if it's clearing it when you turn off the car.
I've just messaged the guy that makes the app to check it's not vin locked for checking codes (it's vin locked to my car for ECU flashing). He should get back to me by tomorrow morning.Alternatively if you've got an android phone or tablet just buy an odb cable and I think the code checking part of the app is free - just download mhd tuning from the android / google play shop. Cable is from trademe here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/tools-repair-kits/meters-testers/auction-1142954142.htm
Sweeto!

Although there can be many issues that can cause this... above is the most common we are seeing atm.
Id book it in to be checked with a diagnostic scanner that can give you some more information on the codes coming up first.
A diagnostic scan only costs 45+gst here and you can stop in any time you like
thanks for the offer mate, I would of come in today... except your out-of Auckland..

firstly let me apologise if there is an answer to my issues in earlier threads
My engine lights come on when i gun it around 5k revs,
i do not lose power, and when i restart the car, the light is gone. no codes on car or my cheap OBD
Known issues with my car below
- I have had the code P1553 come up a few times - still trying to narrow down on this - maybe solanoid
- battery light has come up few times now, but still starts every time
I just cant see why the above 2 problems would turn the engine light on, when i put the peddle down.
any suggestions before i spend $280 on diagnostic costs with an independent BMW specialist?
also i still have a warranty =)

p.s my 335i is a thrill to drive

9 hours ago, qube said:wheel alignment?
the wheel aligment place said wheel alighment wont fix the inner wear =/

32 minutes ago, Matth5 said:Same happened to my runflats.
An alignment should help. Also going to normal tyres, some owners have said the stiffer sidewalls on runflats can make this issue worse.
I think tyre pressure can come in to it as well. A year ago I had an alignment, bought Goodyear Easy F1 Assymetric 2 (3 is now on the market) and I run slightly higher pressures. So far after plenty of abuse (used DCT launch control more times than I can count) there is no sign of inner wear. Tyres are nice and even.
I highly recommend these tyres, they were only about $300 each from Mag And Tyre at the time. Most places charge over $500.
Much more grip than the potenza runflats especially in the rain and much smoother ride.
For safety get a can of tyre slime and a portable air compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket from Repco or Supercheap. Was only about $80 for both when I bought mine.
him thanks for the tip... my conservative side ask, whats the down side to this tyre slime, eg does it affect the sensor? will affect the tyre going forward, im thinkinhg to start looking for a biscuit

its thrill to drive, but the maitenance cost, and runflats are crap..
the torque curve is excellent, its truly is a perfomance car, im looking to mod the exhaust soon, to get a deeper growl

mate I love it, but the maintenance costs is not cheap. I guess I'll just have to get use to it, a 10 year old car will have issues, but no Japanese car I've owned before has cost me this much. lucky I have a warranty

hi funny you mentioned that, i have the wires poking out also,, just bought 2 new second hand pontenza runflats,
do you recommend sticking with the run flats? or go normal
my rear insides are chewed out is this normal? can anything be done?
