  1. Hi Guys, Got the gearbox off today after some fighting with that jammed bolt , ive had a look at my clutch plate and it has about 4mm of beef on it, engine will be coming out at 300000 k's for a cambelt swap etc, so just need to know if the clutch will last until then. It looks to be in good cond and worked fine before the gearbox died. Car has about 15000 k's left until the cambelt change so planning to do clutch and slave cylinder etc all during that period. Cheers Mitchell
  2. After a getrag 240 driveshaft, PM me if you would be keen to sell Cheers Mitch
  3. Inline fuse is a bustard to find. My one was under my heater control panel. It is in the shape of a bullet and in a plastic cylinder. Mine was white, it may be different for other cars though.
  4. Cheers guys, since there is only one bolt holding it in which looks like to be an Inverse Torx - size 13. I will buy a set of sockets and get it out for good. Otherwise i will look at the engine removal option
  5. Hey Guys, Over the last couple days my gearbox has been in the process of been removed, we are 95% there with only 1 bolt still attaching the gearbox to the engine. The Inverse Torx Sockets i used for the bolt were either too big or to small and after many failed attemps the head of the nut has completly worn down beyond recognition. The bolt is slightly above the slave cyl which has been removed for easy access. Still though, i cant get a file, vice grips, or any sort of device into there (apart from a socket). Does anyone has any suggestions on how to remove it? It has a tonne of crc on it and still wont budge, the gearbox is also back in its original place with the help of some jacks, so there is no real strain on it. Any help on this one would be much appreciated Cheers Mitch
  6. Hi Guys, I will be swapping out my old shitbox for another one first thing tommorow. This is the plan, would anyone reccomend i do anything else in another order etc? Any suggestions much appreciated 1. Unbolt and remove exhaust 2. Remove heatshielding and remove driveshaft 3. Drain clutch line 4. Remove Slave cylinder 5. Remove electrics from gearbox 6. Get a jack under gearbox to take its weight and start unbolting it from bellhousing side first 7. Take off rubber mounts 8. Let it drop on the ground 9. Beer break 10 Jack new gearbox into place 11. Bolt up 12. Put exhaust, driveshaft, slave cylinder etc all back together Cheers Mitchell
  7. After some searching around i found a gearbox. Current one has the following stamping on it as follows: GETRAG: 260.0.1346.90 One i picked up today has the following stamping on it GETRAG: 240.0.0132.90 - 225 - 1.1 - 1 They box's themselves look the same however the shifter + linkage is different. Need to know s if the getrag 240 will work in my car that currently has a 260 in it? Cheers Mitchell
  8. Hi guys, Need some help on this one, have been doing some reasearch on the net and im getting thrown all over the place. A few things that would be helpful to know 1. How and in what order do you bleed to clutch (slave then master etc) 2. What method works the best 3. My clutch is noisy at the moment - will a bleeding help it? Cheers Mitchell
  9. Hi, I had exactly the same problem, i later discovered it was my heat shield around my guibo that was moving freely, your right it does make a horrible noise I rebolted mine and gave it a test run and the problem is gone for good
  10. 16. Hey guys, Was driving along today then stopped at lights and went to take off again and physically couldnt get my car in gear. I am buying a new gearbox fairly soon as my syncro on 3 has gone. I tried turning the car off and putting it in gear 1,2,3,4,5 and even reverse and still nothing. tried the same combination with the car on and nothing. I checked clutch reservoir and there is plenty in there Cheers Mitchell

  21. Driveshaft is mounted to the coupling and the coupling isnt going to the gearbox. This should do the trick right? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=348215422
  22. Cheers Guys really appreciate it When back wheels are off the ground only 1 wheel spins is that usual?
  23. The first image is the rubber circle thing in its normal place, and the second picture shows me moving it
  24. Hey Jon, That would be good, but the car is undriveable.. But once i get it driveable i will drop it in I degreased the bolts that connect the driveshaft and couldnt tighten them anymore as they were already tight. There was a circle rubber thing that is sitting ontop of the driveshaft just as it exits the gearbox and it is loose and i am able to move it 2-3cm to any side. Is this normal? I will post some photos of it shortly Cheers Mitchell
