Am looking at purchasing a wetsuit from an American company as it is cheaper than buying them in NZ, totalling about $500 incl the shipping (NZ Dollars). Am i likely to have to pay tax or any money on this entering the country? The guy said he will put the cost of the wetsuit at half price so i dont have to pay as much. If so, how much roughly? If anyone with some knowledge on this matter could give me a heads up it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Hamish

Yeah, im looking towards the medium tall. Have heard the same, as the neoprene does stretch a little. Himitangi and Wanganui etc are generally small, but i'd tend to be surfing over on the east coast, riversdale and akitio etc. As long as the boards not pencil thin, around 2.5 inches id be fine. In reply to 'Quailboy', have tried both boards and found my mates shortboard easier to get up on than the minimal. Cheers for your thoughts.

Hi All, Am in the process of buying my first surfboard and wetsuit. Have been out a few times and am pretty decided on what i want. Am looking at a few surfboards on trademe, 6"4' shortboards 18 - 19" wide and looking at 2 3'8 to 2 5' thick. Was originally looking at a minimal as suggested by a lot of people for a learner, but i had a go on my mates 6"2 fish and found it easier to get up on than the minimals i had been using, so have decided to go with a shortboard. Does the size of the board seem right? Would the thickness (which is the big issue) be enough so that waves are ridiculously hard to catch. These are 3 of the boards im looking at.....Board 1......board 2....board 3. Also looking for a wetsuit, looking at rip curl as they have the most flexible neoprene. Problem being that we dont have any stores in P. North that seem to stock a decent range of suits, which has lead me to look online without being able to try any on. Question being what size would be best for me? I'm 6"2 and 82kg, slim build. The rip curl sizing guide says that i should have a large or large tall. But I've been wearing my mates medium which just seemed a little bit restricting, so i was thinking a medium tall would suffice? Any light that could be shed on the above issues by some knowledgeable surfers would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mavrick

Ferg Burger in Queenstown, not sure if it in Dunedin as well. Beats Burger Fuel hands down.

Old man got one and was going to pass it onto me...Didnt realise it was driving in your own car. Not really worth the $149 if you're doing most driving in your own car. Have completed both Audi drives track/road and they were mint, all taken care of. Would rather have an m5 for a weekend and go back country again.

Mechanical warranty and their exclusions.

Yeah, and a cam sensor is about $450 to fix. Just had this done. But if you think about it, unless your a complete muppet and you drive your car till the death if you find a fault soon enough the part to replace shouldn't be a hell of a lot more than your excess. As you said you're pretty pendantic about maintenance. I dont see the point in the excess cover TBO. -
Here's hoping shes not to expensive to fix. Thanks for the replies.

Hi, When i arrived home tonight, popped the bonnet to fill up the window washer. Upon lifting the bonnet, i could hear a slight hissing noise and noticed a greeny blue spray around the radiator and fan (see attache pic's). Bit of a noob when it comes to engines. Any idea what could this be? Am going to take it to town tomorrow morning but thats a 20km drive. Just wanting to make sure it'd be sweet. The liquid was dry, so it may have been there a few days. Also the tray at the base of the radiator has some liquid in it (you can see it by looking down into the engine bay). Any help would be appreciated. Cheers,

As stated in the title. Have a set of front and rear springs out of my previous e30 m325i pre f/l. Can supply photos if required, but you all know what you're buying. They're originally out 'Incarys' car, he can vouch as there were king springs in it when he purchased it. Looking for $100 ono for teh set. Will get quotes on posted if you keen. Cheers, Mavrick

Im looking for the bracket (see attached), which holds the car phone in place. Both front clips have snapped off so it's only held from the back, which means the phone pops out on rough roads etc. Went to Jeff Gray but it turns out i have ot buy the whole unit..$1400 dollars later, flag that for a $5 piece of plastic. So if you do name a price and i'd be grateful to take it off your hands. Also if you have the top piece to the cigarette lighter (in brushed alum finish). Have temp fixed it in place with a plastic glue. Cheers,

Cheers for the advice. Is a bit of a drive sadly, will take in into Jeff Gray Monday and see what they say. My warrants overdue by a week (my bad) so need to go in anyway. Cheers,

Guess this should go here.. Own a 01' e39 540i. Every so often when slowing down from driving, at around 20 k's and under my car's warning lights etc flash on, the radio cuts out and the revs drop.....then it sweet. Twice it's cut out totally when driving slow (round parking lots etc) then slowing down and today it reset its OBC when it cut out. Am yet to take it in to Jeff Gray or Autoworkx in town. Any idea what this could be? Just so that when i take it in i can maybe point them in the right direction, possibly saving me some coin. Cheers for any help in advance. Mavrick,

Man, when i had my e30 i trawled the internet for days trying to get a set of these into the country. As Simon said, almost worth buying an e30 for.

Im insured with state, 21 e39 540 1 speeding ticket against me and its only $900 for full cover, which i think is pretty reasonalble. Although it has no modifications from factory, still no problems so far but all this bad talk about state is a little worrying. M,

Would 9" on the front and 10' on the back fit without too much guard work? What sorta prices would i be looking at for 19" vs 20" tyres?....looks to Johno... Cheers,

Hi All, Finances depending i would like to get some new wheels for my car. its a 2001 e39 540i with all the motorsport extras. I was thinking size wise i would go for a set of staggered 19" wheels. Ultimate wheels would either be Work VS-XX or RS II but they're at the top end of the scale price wise. If i could have your opinion on wheels styles and sizes, and if you do have avaliable approx cost of the wheels. Ideallly i was thinking 19s would have more tyre than 20" so less road noise, also there would be a cheaper/better range in the 19" wheel. All opinions will be taken on board, no chrome though sorry. Am leaning towards mesh, but definatly have to have dish. Cheers, Mavrick

Yeah got an 01' 540i with motorsport extras. Good to see the m325i is getting what it truly deserves. Good luck with the whole build.

Haven't been on in a while since i sold my e30. Just hear to ask a favour.... I have been looking at a car on tradem that is no longer listed hence no link. Its a Boston green 540i from Fasher Auto Haus, someone may know of it? Done around 90k and is stickered for 24k. If anyone knows of the car i'm talking about or knows anything on it, i.e. how strait it is. Could you just gimme a yell. To me it looks like a winner but i will have to fly up to auckland with a one way ticket so i really want to be sure of it. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Mavrick
