For what its worth, last year my flatmate had a WRX and i had a e46 328cia. We found that they would use roughly the same amount of fuel on average despite me having 200kgs and 800ccs on him. His could use less fuel if he kept off that turbo though.

Thanks Ash, much better
SN1TZR, any dirt on the Lotus project? Closest I've ever gotten to one was watching a Caterham Seven at a gymkhana a while back, Christ it was rapid! Agile too!
Keen to learn more if you've got any info to share
Plenty, this is what it looked like in 2011. All the evidence points to it being a genuine S3 Lotus Seven however no paperwork and no Lotus plate (often taken off for racing).
Was pretty rough had been stored in a shed for about 10 years. My friend Harry has given it a complete and thorough rebuild over the past (almost) 3 years. Replacing all the body panels, repairing the chassis, new suspension etc. The 1600 Ford Crossflow engine has been fully rebuilt with a hotted up racing cam and rebuilt gearbox.
He's taken his time and done a really thorough rebuild to keep things looking authentic. Project is nearing completion (finally) but funding has run out so he's having to sell some of the other toys.
He's currently up to fitting all the gauges and electrics and bits and pieces so not far off!
Hopefully he will have it ready for summer so he can come with me to the track (in my m3 - which is next on my list)
Has been a really exciting (and frustrating and expensive) project for him but should be an epic wee car once its ready.

Hey guys! Shameless plug for a friend of mine selling his car.
Its an 05 Integra Type R. Rare car and a mint example, friend of mine imported it from Japan but is now regretfully needing to sell so he has to cash to finish his Lotus Seven project .
Sorry i know this doesn't really have a place on Bimmersport but Type R's are a great drivers car, hoping someone might know someone who could be interested.
Tell your friends!

Yep, but not much more than a rumble down here in Wgtn

I recommend you buy one Michael so you can sell me your 6speed 540

Kinda odd how Carjam lists it as a 1997 e39 and so does the rego sticker though. Vin throws it up as mid 1995 (obviously).
That can't be a genuine error surely?
I cant see where it says its registered as an e39 (other than the title of the auction) even though it came out of the factory in sept of 95 it wasn't first registered until jun 97. Often dealerships will register a car as the year of first registration or arrival to nz rather than model year. Bit strange to do this by two years but not unheard of.

Righto, sounds like a bit of a tough one. Hope you manage to get it sorted soon!

Heya, i'm an IT technician. Have you checked the setting in the modem or possibly tried using a different modem? Its rare to see house wiring the problem in this sort of case however having a naked connection means its not easy to rule this out (have you tried the modem in another socket?).
I'd try reset the modem and put your settings in again and failing that maybe try another modem. Modems crapping out is far more common than house wiring issues.

I practically stole it at $2500,
Thats crazy for such a clean example! Was thinking of trying to low ball that white one with 5k but even that seems outlandish now....
-
105K on the white one? You'd think there would be a lot of life left in it. It's barely broken in yet. I dunno about $7K though, for that sort of money I'd be looking at the e39 540i's.
I don't mind the blue leather, a bit dated but I kinda like that funky 90's executive cheese styling. I'm seriously considering dyeing my silver leather red and replacing all the grey fabric interior some type of black/white plaid..lol! even bought a full replacement leather interior last night to get it underway.
Heeeeelll yes. Red leather is sexy.
I don't think i'd pay 7k for it, but there is definitely an appeal of e34 over e39.
-
It hardly ever reaches the estimated price. Id be thinking around 3k max given the mileage.
The white one looks nice especially with the sport kit but not a fan of the blue interior
So much car for 3k. Crazy really....
The turners estimate is often an indication of where the reserve is, so it'll probably be on there for a while.
Yes blue leather a bit ew.

Pretty keen on this one at the moment. Dropped his price down from 10k. NZ new and super low kms. Looks mint, but still 7ks a bit steep?

E39 they reckon?

I tapped in to the tape feed at the back of the head unit. Wires were yellow and blue from memory. Volume level is a bit lower, however that can be boosted with a line driver if your keen. Google e38 aux cables. Think that's how I found it
Did this in my e36, found the quality to not be as good as it sounds like runs though a different amp or filter.... could have just been my wiring however.....
Best bet in my opinion is an Anycar or Grom system. They use the cd changer port, cost about $100 - $150 can get ones that do bluetooth as well.

Thought one has to give details by law. Could call the cops?
Yup, if requested after any form of accident both parties have to openly share name, address and contact phone number. In hindsight cops would have been a good idea. Luckily our insurance was able to get all the details...
-
Bet someone got a mean deal on this.

Looks awesome in blue! dont see many in this colour!
You hear horror stories about those transmissions though....

One of my staff caught someone in a hilux scraping up the side of his one week old company car. When he approached her she refused to give any details and said she would take us to court.
Luckily he got her rego # so insurance have been able to track her down, but its so disrespectful that people can't take responsibility for their actions.
