    Saw that figure and was like WTF... then saw all the extras and that you've only got a 318. I'm paying out $750 a year for fully comp on an E46 330i M-Sport.
  3. Agreed, State blows... I wrote off my GSXR1000 a couple years back when some stupid cow cut in front of me and slammed on the brakes forcing me into her boot. PC Plod turned up and fined me for 'failure to stop in the visible distance ahead'. Tried explaining to State that the copper was a d*ck and it wasn't my fault, they took the attitude that if the copper had fined me then it was obviously my fault and reamed me for the full excess. Any insurance company that is unwilling to listen to my side of the story doesn't get my business.
  4. What makes you think these manufacturers aren't making these parts expensive for a reason? It's all double-dipping. Buy a new car and the optional upgrade to heated seats etc... will cost you more, then of course, when they break, costs more to replace, twice the profit! Have a watch of the documentary "Who killed the electric car" one of the interesting things in there was about just how much money the car companies (in that case GM) makes from things like Oil Filters and such, it's a massive part of their business, so complicating their cars to the point where you can't replace a 50c igniter and you have to replace an entire $1000 airbag is good for business. There's a reason people are moving towards Japanese cars, and my belief is that it's because they are significantly cheaper to repair due to the typical lack of complexity.

    Sweet, that might be the order of the day then. I've had a look at the Dynavin but I wouldn't use any of the GPS / DVD player bits and bobs, so not worth spending all that cash. Think I'll just plug in an OEM head unit and connect up a Grom unit, job done

    Realise this is an old thread, but did you ever find out if you can run the factory head unit with a usb drive? I'd love to go back to a factory head unit but my current head unit (as crap as it is) will play mp3 cds.
  7. Hey, Got an intermittent issue with the electric windows on my 330. I tuck them in when parking at work due to the spaces being fairly tight and from time to time the left or right ones don't pop back out as they should. Usually if I try folding and unfolding them again after a while they fold out properly. Is there something I should be lubing? or could it be a loose connection or something? Any ideas / suggestions?

    Yeah, wasn't keen on totally debadging since if I've got the 3 litre I might as well say so, in my experience the only people who debadge have the 318s like you say. I wondered about the 320 on there at the mo, I don't get much attention from ricers I think due to the badge, but they do tend to look puzzled when I pull away from the lights with a bit more power than they expected

    Hey, Due to a mistake when importing my 330i M-Sport was badged as a plain 320i, it's getting re-badged but I'm still in two minds as to what to do with it and wanted some opinions on what badges to use and where to place them. Since it's a factory M-Sport I can stick one of those ///M badges on the back yeah? So should I stick that on instead of the 330i? Next to it? 330i on the right side and ///M on the left? Or just badge the 330i and leave the ///M off altogether? Thoughts and opinions gratefully received.
